Yeah i was thinking this thread hasn't moved much. Dandan is right, we all have tickets this time and I didn't go for standing as i am getting old and did my queuing in feb with a bad experience so forget it. I am going to erase that from my mind like it never happened.

I am STILL waiting for london to be announced and it may sound mental..but I am hoping for another 21 night take over omg pray

I think the fact everyone has tickets and knows where they're going means there's not much to talk about lol In Feb, the constant guessing as to where and when he was playing meant the thread was always buzzing discussion.

I think for me at least there is still the question of where and when do we start queuing for the standing tickets (Friday at MEN) - and the size of the stage and standing area compared to the Academy - and what about queue comfort - at the academy u could go in and out the queue for a slash and use the venues bogs thanks to the numbering system. I'm old now. Comfort is a big thing!

You tend to queue inside at the MEN, when you go into victoria train station, upstairs and there is a big foyer area where the arena box office is, there is also a Macdonalds there in the same room, so toilets wont be an issue, there is a bar in the train station downstairs aswell with more toilets smile , the floors are clean aswell so not a problem for people to sit and queue i dont think. (There may be a 2nd queue at the doors outside though aswell)

.

My thinking though is, on the tickets it says doors open at 6pm, show starts at 8pm, its going to be a long day for anyone thinking they will queue to get to the front if they que from early then have another 2 hours standing inside. I was a row back in Feb so im not too fussed about being very close, just want to make sure i have a decent view with me being short, Im going the Sat night aswell but seated to get the best of both worlds

I wonder the same, when should one arrive at the venue to stand in queue? I would arrive in Birmingham around 16:00 pm, this is the earliest I can manage, have to fly out to London and then take the train to Birmingham. Just worried if two hours waiting before is not enough to be at the front, I am short, and cannot be way in the back to see the gig. Got standing ticket confused

Well i think the breakdown and pretzelbodylogic are obvious two. Have a look at the london set lists from feb. I reckon they are pretty much there.

Prince if you are reading this please please please drop the sample sets. I am so bored of them now.

Yes, it's general admittance so get there early if you want to get to the front. And get ready for the ignorant, the rude and the drunks pushing past you once it's showtime!

I have allocated tix for Birmigham that are at the back of the place, but standing, as stated, for Manchester. I was hoping to remedy my Birmingham position with these standing tix....looks like i can! I will be there very, very early smile

It looks like they have pretty much cut the arena in half, so a horshoe shape, its a big arena, so I am guessing the stage will be pretty wide, wider than the academy, but if it is just Prince & 3eg they may make the stage smaller else they could disappear on it, i'm guessing a smaller area for the band with large digital screens either side to fill the gaps, they had the big screens behind them at the Academy, so i think they will move to the side. I saw walking with Dinosaurs there last year, the side seating is fixed, there was plenty of room for a 30ft T-rex to chase around a Triceratops around a jungle, so lots of room for the stage !!!

Queuing should be ok, the main entrance to the arena is through Victoria train station, there is a big enclosed roofed open area outside the actual arena where the box office is and the usual fast food and coffee shops/mechandising, so lots of opportunity for 'leisure breaks', so queuing indoors. I think that area of the arena would be locked up overnight, so doubt anyone could queue there overnight if considering that, could probably queue in the station at the arena entrance, doing a number system would be the best, the fans at the front will be queuing early on the day I guess, so I'm sure they will agree, i'm guessing there will be around 5,000+ standing tickets (not seen any official numbers), so they must have decent security at the event for so many people. The Academy had decent security which prevented queue jumping and the problems seen in London.

I've got good Lower Tier Block 115 next to the stage for the Saturday night, I'd just bought Block 205 for the Friday night (All I could find after 20 mins of frustration on seetickets & ticketmaster) when the Saturday night in Manchester went on sale, so I got good tickets, spent allot more than planned, can't be bothered with the hastle of queuing all day again and seats should give a good view, even if i'm not as close as I was at SBE/Academy gigs, I can't see the atmosphere being as special as the Feb gigs, but lets give it a go smile

So they have split the standing areas up at Birmingham? I guess it makes sense for crowd management etc, did you get a choice when buying for which standing area? that's abit unusual for standing, usually first in line gets the best area, that's how it was for Manchester.

nope, arena is the same floor plan as all other major gigs there [check out Katy Perrys' floor plan for example, it's the exact same seating / stage location therefore if you have blocks 102 or 115 you have got a really, really great view!. Can't believe that there are still Katy Perry tix still available btw!![my kids are going NOT me!!]

The first London shows had pretty leftfield set lists - by the end though he was playing the usual stuff that always creeps into the shows - Take Me With U, Raspberry Beret, U Got The Look, Nothing Compares 2 U, Play That Funky Music, piano medleys with D&P etc, long smapler sets with the band playing over the top on Sign O The Times etc. So I reckon there will be plenty of hits in the arena shows to keep the average punters happy - and hopefully a large sprinkling of more unusual tunes to keep you all happy too. smile

Hi
I have two spare tickets available for Manchester on Friday 16th.
They are good seats and are £135 each face value inc booking fees.
Our friends unable to go now, so looking for two genuine Prince fans to take them up.
Not looking for any profit on them, just looking to recoup the face value.
Please private message me if interested.

Thanks

I've seen 3rd Eye Girl twice now - Las Vegas in 2013 and London last February.

You'll be guaranteed to get most of the following songs:

Let's Go Crazy Reloaded

Screwdriver

FIXURLIFEUP

Bambi

Chaos & Disorder

Colonized Mind

Endorphinmachine

The Breakdown (they played this a lot on the Live Out Loud tour but not at the UK Feb dates, but it's been released since then)

Play That Funky Music

Plectrum Electrum

Guitar

FunkNRoll

She's Always In My Hair (slowed down version)

I Like It There

Dreamer

Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)

Cause & Effect

and then chances are he'll do the following songs solo on the piano:

Purple Rain

Adore

How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore

Diamonds & Pearls

Do Me Baby

The Beautiful Ones

and then, if he does the sampler set as well (which he usually does these days) you may get the following, some he'll just rock an instrumental, some he'll sing a verse or two, some of them he may loop the groove and pick up a guitar or bass and jam over the top:

777-9311

Nasty Girl

Sign O The Times

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World

Hot Thing

Housequake

When Doves Cry

Forever In My Life
Breakfast Can Wait

Mr Goodnight
