Unless U really could afford it, then it would be worth it, especially if Prince did play : ) I've noticed that Prince follows no set rules when it comes to his performing. One of the rules he breaks is being consistantly unpredictable. The times I left early and found out the next day that Prince had performed, were some of the worst dayz of my life. The times I stayed and waited when there was no guarantee, were the greatest performances I'd ever see

Its true that it costs big bucks to make the pilgrimage but the experience alone is worth it imo. Imagine being there eating pancakes in the same room where Prince has played is in itself an outrageously amazing feeling Plus Excellent music, vibes with a great showcase for many bands

Then IF Prince does appear and play it'll go down as one of UR FUNKIEST DAYZ

From my experience there, if the crowd is fun, lively, and dancing there's a good chance he will. Not guaranteed.

If they sit on their hands, sit, and wait - he probably won't.

That said, dancing to a dj spinning Prince's latest jams and classics, unrelated artists, and a live show from a local artist can be a fun night.

I would also suggest taking the shuttle bus. The shuttle riders normally get in first.

I no everything always remain's hush hush but it's annoying when u spend a few thousand (nevermind flying is rough on my body as i get older and have issue's) to try and see P at Paisley and had no luck which is annoying.

A part of me feel's he has to play,right....it's been what almost a month since he played. But then again he's Prince he doesn't have to so anything and thats what's what's worrying!!

I have a partner who wants to go and take the chance but i'm not so sure. A part of me rather take a chance on a sure thing after stunt's being pulled. Maybe Essence w/ all the amazing acts along w/ P, and w/ P playing right after Chic maybe Nile/him might do something?!?!?

But there's nothing like seeing a show at Paisley.

Sure thing route might not be a bad idea if your only goal is to see Prince....

When I had to pay P 250 a ticket on the LOL tour (and i saw a few shows on the tour,so wasen't cheap), and that just had 3rdeyegirl playing. W/ the short notice he gave for the Fillmore i had to pay a scalper/nice guy who let me come in on his 2nd ticket (but he made 3-4 times what stubhub woulda costed) and only 3rdEyegirl were playing those 2 sets. The cheapest i saw P in this millenium was for the Hit N Run tour at the Aladdin which was INSANE!!! You had green beret's for security walking around, Magic Johnson walked by me twice, Gladys Knight, etc, Many star's there. Suprised i got a seat that was pretty close for 125$ i think, and that was just P, no1 opening up either (man,what a amazing show). Woulda loved Najee to open up but in my dreams....

So i'm saying i have seen so many gig's where it's just him, and unless Liv Warfield, or lets say someone like Larry Grahm or Chaka (jam of the year tour!!!swear people slept on/forgot how amazing those shows were..u got to see that trio!!! mIan the younger people don't even no) I'd be there in a minute w/out question. I don't mind a DJ either, thats fine. I don't mind a cool band opening up for P at Paisley, i'm Not against that. But if i have to fly/get hotel/rent a car/etc YES I WANT TO SEE ME SOME P LIVE!!!Flying ain't what it used to be. TSA is annoying/usually have a attitude ,i used to love flying. Now it feels like a nuisance. So you have airfare not 2 w/ks in advance b/c u never no when he's going to play so its more expensive, Hotel, Car Rental, Gas, and my Time.

Plus i'm getting older and i have some health issue's. Flying to MN phsyically HURTS ME now!!

I've done the whole go on a whim and just have fun w/out a care plenty, but since 2001ish yes I would like the respect of knowing. I don't mind mystery/sometime appreciate it, but some of us can't waste the $$$ and Time on a maybe. I understand he's his own person and can do whatever he wants..I don't have to agree w/ it tho ,or fall for a trick. Like the movie thing, thats cool once ot twice espicially if he's playing the next day.If not ,thats personally not cool to me,and i have that right like he has a right to not play. I sometime's think it's a slap in the face to some of his most loyal to get a new/younger fan base that won't expect much from him, or maybe we remember the way it used to be and he can't or don't want to rock it like those times he would play at Paisley for sure a bunch,or even when u didn't no u found out close to show somehow. Thats where Tweet's,etc ruined it. Technology made it so people can let u no when its way to late, like when he's about to hit the stage instead of maybe a day or 2 before. If i lived in MN/or even if i was a few hrs away i wouldn't be complaining as much,b/c i'd be there every Sat for paisley After Dark!!

But i even hear some locals i know are getting mad and saying they aren't going back even if he plays,and friends of them. Plus people who traveled like me for nothing are saying wait for a sure thing too. Its kinda sad, b/c P playing Paisley is always sick, look at what songs he ends up playing. Alot of us can't keep making these pilgrimage's and yes the main reason a lot of us are going is for the chance to hear P.Even that 30min set is better than nothing, espicially when he's starting w/ I'M Yours!!!Plus him taking his anger out on bass/drums!!very rare occasion to witness!

Thats why i'm saying if the closest sure thing is Essense maybe i should try and tough it out and go to Essense. Man the line up at Essense look's great (we'll day 1 and 2 look the best), plus haven't seen Chic since they opened for Earth Wind & Fire in 2000.Plus Stephanie Mills, Mary J, Jill Scott, Liv. Badu,Doug E Fresh, Roots, etc. Thought Frankie Beverly Feat Maze was playing?I didn't see them on the Essense list.

I'd love to see DOug E, I just saw Slick Rick on his 25th Anniversay tour of Great Adventure's of Slick Rick.During Lodi-da-di he even said Doug E fresh and i thought he was going to jump out from the back, espicially when they stopped the Instr and had someone start beatboxing the rest, unfortunately No Doug E. But Slick was amazing, 45mins of him showing you he's here to stay!!!

If you can see him, GO!!!! I no the tour is winding down, maybe only 2-3 shows left. He even had tour shirt w/ dates on the back. He's ending it at BB's in Ny 5/3, Boston 5/2 and i no Detroit was 4/26 and there's nothing at least on the shirt that fills in the blank, if u care.

Funny thing is when i saw a pic of Nik West for the 1st time and knew Prince liked her a lot, i told a friend Ida might be getting booted!! She has the look/style that would blend in w/ 3rdEyegirl.

Maybe Plectrum is getting buried b/c 3rdEye might get rearranged into something new or he has a new band??just thought about that right now. B/c he does like to live in the future, he could be like why release a old chapter even tho it's not that old to us. If it happen's i'll miss 3rdEye. Its the closest your going to get as P doing a garage band twist w/ funk&soul. I swear when I was watching the LOL show's I was like 3rdEye show's will be looked back upon as a historical moment in Prince-tory.

Like@Fillmore he was a beast on the guitar (when there's only 3 people behind you he can jam his a<> off). Like on She's always in my hair ,of course Donna got her lead but P was taking over guitar duty's. It seemed if he wasen't on key's he was on guitar or bass for that crazy 7min 777-9311 jam w/ BK that went into sparse avante garde territory then comes back for the last min as a funk punk slowed down feel w/ a dirty twist of grind. 3rdEye has a edge, so i hope it stay's in whatever form it may be. P can play the guitar so good and w/ a more more stripped down band you can feel it. Not to say I don't like him w/ NPG, b/c i like the old and New Power Gen. There just 2 diff entity's. Seem's like no matter what player's he pick's they fit right in. He know's who will match w/ him and not.

Wish i could have went to Paisley but i actually was in so much pain i couldn't have went through the airport thing/Flying/Hotel/ car rental/ and flying/Probably would mean coming back i'd maybe feel this bad too. Bummer if i missed a show. I actually wanted to go b/c i was bored and figured he hasen't played in a month so the chance might have been good. Maybe my body had intuition if he didn't play. At least the plane ticket was refundable.

We'll did anyone else hear about DR FINK Playing shows??In May i have a ticket to See Him w/ Haiku- Chi and it says he's playing all old P!! So i'm very curious what this will hold, and don't no who Haiku-Chi is,so must be a singer or band backing him. I haven't done any googling about it. Just got a ticket and i'm stoked to see what he'll do.

Also got a Taj Mahal Ticket for a show in a couple months, and MACEO is doing 4 show's in the summer which i'm Def going to check out. In case no one heard about those act's playing, there touring. Oh and The FAMILY STONE is playing shows!! Got my tickets to the couple show's there doing. No SLY, but when is there ever Sly. I figure it's better than nothing. We'll Sly did appear when they did that reunion in LA then he walked off 25 mins into the show and got the money from the show and drove off to go see the dopeman. The Family figured it out, and tried to find him after they ended but by 20 mins Sly was supposedly on his way to Vegas w/ his g/f. That was in what 08?? To bad, they were supposed to record a new album at the time w/ sly and that messed everything up.
