if i heard cream and 1999 i would have been bumbed! its not that they are not great and classic

but we have heard them a billion times

this was a chance to see a different side of a performer who proved he is in a class of his own.

NO ONE IN THE WORLD could have done to The Ride what he did.. it was ELECTRIFYING.

im still in awe after my 3rd show on this tour..

man a trip to minneapolis to catch the last shows is mighty tempting.....

Wow! The 2nd show was great! I loved the new version of Let's Go Crazy. That along with The Ride and She's Always in My Hair were highlights for me although I was on a purple high from start to finish...almost(i'll clarify later). Can't believe he played Adore and How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore. He killed it tonight. I was so hyped and the crowd was bouncing and very responsive all night. We were surraounded by quite a few newbies and they were all very impressed for the most part. We hung with a 21 year college student that we met in line who drove in alone from Fort Collins to attend her first Prince show. She loved it! This show is well worth the money. This is a must see for Prince Fams. While we waited in line the first show was playing and we saw several peple leaving and they were clearly disappointed, some of them even cursing. I don't get it. Even if you are expecting to hear certain songs and he doesn't play them, being witness to Prince in full on Rock Star form in a small venue is truly something to behold. The sampler portion of the show is a bit of a letdown for me. It is not "real music by real musicians". The crowd enjoyed it because the songs being played were great dance tunes but the band is standing on stage doing nothing while Prince sings along to a track. I like the sampler when it is just that, portions of "popular" songs played to pump up the crowd. He actually sang large portions to some of the sampler set songs which meant 3rd Eye was the 3rd wheel. I was hoping the show would have ended with the band playing instead of the sampler.Overall is was very enjoyable for me. I loved the guitar laden setlist with sprinkles of slow jams at the piano. I wish I could see it again. Peace and Be Wild!

I didn't mind not hearing them again. He played a few songs last night that I have never gotten to see live and I loved every minute of it. Was the show too short for what we paid? Yes…kind of. (How long of a show really makes $250 worth it? hard to say.) But I wasn't paying to see a long show. I was paying to see a great performer in an intimate setting. For me, being three feet away from the man and watching him perform some of my favorite songs was worth every penny. Even though the show was short, I was on sensory overload for the entire time, so I felt feeling very satisfied. It was literally a full frontal assault to my ears and eyes from the moment the bass drum kicked in behind the curtain. I'll be at the late show tonight and can hardly wait. As for the covers go, he only played a couple of songs that weren't his own. He does that almost every time I see him live, so it was no surprise and I always enjoy the fresh spin he puts on those songs. The rest of the songs were all his. The band was tight and the funk/rock was delivered with precision and power. Loved it! I heard the same rumblings when people left the 1st show too. I agree, this show isn't for the casual fan. I attended the 2nd show & as a hardcore fan I couldn't be more pleased with what I saw. First off, I was 1st tier just left of center front row.I've seen him 5 times before in the stadium shows (2nd row in OKC) & this was by far THE BEST show I've seen!!! I love the hits, but I relished the fan classics he played even more with 3/4 of it with him on guitar!!! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, "The Ride", was ecstatic when he sang "Adore", enjoyed the Reloaded versions of "LGC" & "ICNTPYM", & so excited he did full versions of "WDC" & "Housequake"!!! My ticket was a gift from my family as a birthday present, & it was THE BEST birthday gift I've EVER received!!!
