Bought all 4 tix for 4 shows. I'll get to the front row for the first show but will have to leave once, right? BUT! Then Prince goes, "Oh, hey, wait, I know you. You've been my fan for a REALLY long time. You can stay. Or, ...come with me to the backstage? Something to drink?" ...smile ...smile

Close to Disneyland... No Angel game so parking won't be a problem

I am going to both shows Wednesday. I hear it is a nice place. Bigger than these other venues? Anyone know it?
Any tips on nearby hotels?

There is a good-sized floor area in front and 2 to 3 tiers.

plenty of hotels and motels nearby because of Disneyland

Is there anyone who's been 2 "The Grove" that can explain how the Gen Adm tix work?

It seems like a large floor space, so how do they admit people 2 their "tier styled" open floor?

Is it just arriving @ The Grove early (first come/first serve style) 2 line up outside 2 get close up 2 the stage?

Do they ever leave that area upfront 4 VIP wristband style peeps only? Sorry so many ?'s....

Tix arent cheap 4 standing room only inside and waiting in line b4 hand could mean a lot of standing 4 some who want 2b close up w/good views of the show...

Also, has any1 heard promo saying each show will b different setlists/vibes? 4 the price of tix @ The Grove location on this tour, it seems like a costly risk 2 do both early/late shows same night.... Even though Eye wouldn't mind hearing the same setlist 2x, Eye'd rather not b spendin that kinda dough 2 hear the same trax twice.... Eye guess well have the answer 2 that question next Mon/Tues prince

got Prince?

It is a big rectangular hall. There are 5 tiers all about the same size. Each one is raised up a few feet over the tier in front of it, so you have some chance of seeing the stage even if you are in the back.

I have seen them sell "pit wristbands" at VIP prices before, but they don't seem to be selling them for this show. I would assume you can get in the pit if you are first in line when doors open. The pit/ Tier 1 is pretty small, only about 5 rows deep. If you are early enough to claim a spot there they may give you a wristband on arrival so you can go to the bathroom/ bar and come back in.

It is a nice place for a show, good sound, holds about 2000 people. Imagine a theater with no balcony, and no seats, and you probably have the idea. But it is big enough that I would want to get there early to make sure I could get fairly close to the stage. If you are short you will want to claim real estate on the railing at the front row of one of the tiers so you aren't staring at backs of heads all night.

There are no seats in there at all so if you do early + late shows, you better get some good athletic shoes.

First shows start next week so I would hold out speculating about the set lists for a couple more days.

Have fun! I may still make it down there. It is kind of a tough call between the expense and the need to spend that much time standing around. If I could buy a pit pass for $250 I'd have done it, but, c'est la vie. It is about 1/5 to 1/10 the size of the usual places Prince would play in LA so it will be a special event even if it's not exactly a tiny club.

Thank U very much 4 that info bobzilla77, most helpful & really much appreciated smile

Eye'm guessing the "pit" or Tier 1 is still going 2b VIP/wristband access only, but eye could b wrong. May b there is still a chance they will sell VIP tix for a little more $ 2b in that 1st tier, may b not.... Either way eye think Prince feels the need 2 make an impression on the younger crowd and with 3rdeyegirl he is gonna do it! Get ready for some kick ass guitar riffs, the Purple Medicine is coming yoda

It's a big place so, I would probably get there 1-2 hours before doors open to make sure I got in the first couple tiers.

Kat - It depends how close you need to be. You might see a few people in line 12 hours early.

I would try to get there ~3 hours ahead of doors if possible. At 3 hours early there will probably be less than 20 in front of you. At 2 hours, it will start to look like a long line. That's been my experience with other GA shows, most people show up less than 90 minutes before doors.

If you absolutely must be in the front row center then... get there as early as you can possibly stand it.

Although I think you said on another thread you are doing both early & late shows, and I've read on other gig threads that people with passes for the late show do not have to go outside & get in line all over again.

Ah! Thanks for clarification. It's important to remember that what went on in other cities may not go on in every city.

Here's a little bit more info:

Lines for both shows will not open until 12:00Noon. (Not too many people have inquired about being there this early)

No recording allowed of any kind. **Cell phones have been updated!! Will be allowed, but anyone caught taking pictures will be escorted out of the building.**

Standing Room GA only.
This is NOT a Dinner Show. (Ticketmaster has communicated that it is, this is not true.)

Parking: $10.00

Nearest Hotel for travelers: Marriott TownePlace Suites is across the street

I'll send more info as we confirm it.

See you in 8 days!

If you are coming to both shows, you will clear the building but have a "fast pass" at the Front Gate.

Thanks for all the infos!

Since some people have tickets for both early & late shows it would be nice for them to know if they need to go outside & get in line again or if there is any special consideration for early entry, as has been the case in other cities.

When I look at an artist's work, I always look for some dogs among the good stuff. If the person is taking chances, they will have off days and do some lesser things. Prince takes chances and, one reason i try to go see a few shows, is that there are some performances that I do not connect with as well. And others that have me accosting bystanders with my rapturous prose.
I would love to see him alone with a piano doing the moody stuff. I did not love the glaring lights. And yet, wow, WHEN WE ARE DANCING CLOSE AND SLOW live? ADORE?
It gets no better than that.
A long way of saying that it sounds as though Vegas was truncated. I hope he rests up. I hope you can see a second show.
Oh, in SF they did not allow cell phones and it was so nice not to see gleaming screens. The outside world stayed outside.

I am so sorry to hear that phones will be allowed. It makes for a tug-of-war throughout the concert. I hope that changes.

We'll have a food truck come by around 4:00pm for those who do decide to stand in line early.

btw, the venue will not tolerate 1 person holding a place in line for 50 people to jump in last minute. ..a few a time to take a break is one thing.. saw the post, glad someone acknowledged it wink
