i like the look of that setlist! Days of Wild with Wild and Loose sounds like a lot of fun. Shhh AND question of u/the one (might be snoozers for others, but not for me). The Piano Medley! Even the sampler set looks like fun, with pheromone in there!

I just got home from the aftershow which blew my head off but the earlier show was awesome. I enjoyed much more than show 1. Prince went for it from the first moment and didn't stop the energy all night. The piano solo was amazing, DAYS OF WILD! Wow, What a show.
I can do a longer review later but after 3 shows in 2 nights I am exhausted but with a massive smile on my face. Wow, Prince didn't disappoint tonight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

did they still have the tourbook for sale ? Yeah, I think it was $15. There's still a bunch more shows so I figured to wait to the last one I go to before picking it up. Did anyone else see on the way out they hiked the prices up in stand outside? $150 for a tambourine instead of $100 inside and $60 for a beret instead of $45 inside. I think the tourbook was $20 as well so I was like nah I'll wait if I bother at all.

Second show eclipsed the first and the first was banging! Shhh went off! Sorted the hohner issues out and killed it. Only did the intro to the ? Of u. Kiss brang the house down as did purple rain. Totally different set list to concert one. Absolutely mind blowing. Now for the third concert!!! "was i the first, was i your every fantasy"

Last night's main show was definitely better than Friday's. Just seemed more polished, more confident, more alert, more inspired. Plus his guitar was working this time, and that always helps Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Dmsr-----------great!!
WOW!! I guess other than 2 or 3 songs I dont like this show at all. Just boring and tired now. Its the same ol same ol night in and night out just a few very minor differences

Amazing show... I was on total opposite side of the symbol stage this time. love how he totally changed the set although I do admit I preferred the Gold/Jam of Year intro from last night as it had a real BANG entrance i thought DMSR lacked.. Although that doesn't mean I didn't like it I still thought it was cool just a very different start to the show. He stretched out Musicology for a long time and played his red Strat.. He was on fire tonight bustin those dance moves! The piano set w How Come U Don't Call Me was a standout.. As was Days of Wild n i lost it when Let's Work & U Got the Look were played!!

Gee Dandeeland. What a miserable, negative, pessimistic, glass half empty kind of soul you sound like. Maybe you should save yourself some dollars next time and just stick to seeing boy bands.

I need to be on this man's payroll; I've been asking for DOW for years in concert and he's finally playing and look at the positive response. 2ndly what is Dance 4 Me in a sampler set, that song should be played in its entirety?! 3rd, He should play more mixed jams spanding from 90's to present mixed in with the with same old hits he continues to play!

Im glad I went with First elevation gold then. At least Ill be able to see the entire stage, not just the side I happen to be on. I guess thats the key.
Also, would somebody mind claryifying with me what people mean by "The Sampler Set"?
Cheers,
Im so looking forward to Tuesday night in Melbourne.

Guys, these big arena shows are for he casual fans who literally only know "the hits'. Meaning Controversy/1999/LRC/Purple Rain album/Raspberry Beret, Kiss/SOTT, Aphabet St, Diamonds and Peals/Gett Off and then nothing afterwards. He can throw in Nothing Compares 2 U but basically there are excpetions of course but the average fan needs to get their moneys worth. They expect to hear these songs and some stuff they don't know but casual fans, know TMBGITW but probably not Sometimes it Snows in April or Lets Work, let alone Day of Wild! Only the uber fan like on here know Days of Wild... THink about it, Days of Wild wasnt released, wasn't on radio... only the major fans know these tracks. He likes to remind casual fans he wrote Nothing Compares by playing it but you could hear the audience all singing along but singing to the low version from Sinead OConnor.
Some might know Hot Thing, some might know Dance for me, but not many. Music is a business (amongst many other things) and business's need to have satified customers. Not everyone is going to get everyhing they want, but the man has alot material and trys to keep his hardcore all the way to newbies and casuals happy to an extent. He wants to educate the noobies and let them hear 'real music by real musicians'.
This is a major tour, not a small theatre self indulgent show. If he was playing only to hard core fans it would be different. You have to know your audience! Many of them spent hundreds of dollars. Give them what they want and leave them gasping for more. Marketing 101. [Edited 5/12/12 21:23pm] [Edited 5/12/12 21:25pm] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For the last few songs he wore the outfit from that dreaded new promo pic - the black sleeveless top with extraloveable armband. But to my surprise and delight it looked very good on him in the flesh!
"This isnt a Lionel Richie concert" he said at one point.
And "I love it here. (pause) I have a wonderful view. (pause) In my hotel room. (pause)... ...of the bathroom mirror. (crowd laughs) Just kidding. (pause) Kinda."
And he said he hopes to play at the Sydney Opera House one day!!

It is literally a set of samples. Google.com will reveal all. Otherwise in 2 days you can see for yourself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
