Nope, last Year he had a gig in Gdynia during the "Open Air Festival" (2011-07-02).

Today it has been confirmed by our city mayor at the press conference, so it's official- he'll play in Wrocław (http://en.wikipedia.org/w...oc%C5%82aw) on 2012-06-29 (just after the group stage of Euro 2012) at our Municipal Stadium (total capacity: 42,500).

It'll be great! I just cannot wait! I'll see Prince live for the first time. biggrin Fantastic news!

Prince is termianlly ill.

Tour Europe three years in a row?

With no real new output and if there is any he won't play much of it in the normal shows.

Thanks for the news though.

'termianlly' is not a word.

And if you wanted to mention 'terminal illness', I want you to know that's a really ugly comparison in my opinion.

Have a look at 'The W2A: Euro Tour Song Survey' http://prince.org/msg/12/362417

terminally is the correction for this very obvious typing error.

And if you wanted to mention 'terminal illness', I want you to know that's a really ugly comparison in my opinion.

Well, if you can't see that touring part of a continent three years in a row with mostly no new material is showing at least somthing that is not just positive then we can stop here.

This is assuming that this one show in Poland will be part of more shows near there and that he will do similar stuff as in 2010 and 2011. (and yes, I saw most of these shows)

It shows that on one side he has plenty of old stuff and skills to please the people that do not care too much about new material.

On the other side it shows he won't do a concept tour around an album like ONA in 2002 anymore.

And that is a sign of the times.

He actually might fill this in, considering that Wroclaw (Breslau by the previous name) is right by the Czech and German border, so a lot of fans from these countries can easily get there.

Euro 2012 context means only that probably the city of Wroclaw bears some of the costs. Actually this city is very well known for arranging a lot of events to make it attractive. This also might suggest that selling this one out is not really the main target.

Anyway, it is good to see Poland as a new place of choice for a Prince tour. I've never thought I would be in such a situation - there is a Prince tour coming and wow, he is to be in a city nearby. No more trips to Germany, Holland, Scandivania or London.

Well, this is a sign of the times.... smile and very welcome one... smile

see you all there.... and the good news is that EURO 2012 games in Wroclaw end after the group phase - so no football fans when Prince is there... smile so the city shall belong to us ALONE smile

Wroclaw is actually one of the most interesting Polish cities, rich in history, culture, architecturally compelling. It's definitely fun to visit. I am only wondering if this Prince gig is actually gonna come to fruition. It seems as though mayor of Wroclaw spilled the beans a bit early as he claimed there isn't a signed contract as yet... We know Prince is sometimes put off by people jumping the gun prematurely. Time will tell. Anyway, crossing my fingers. Although my heart doesn't really skip a bit at the thought of yet another greatest hits show at a grand stadium.

I've been to Krakow and it's a stunning city.

I would definetly be up for visiting Poland again for Prince.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Can we assume that if true, this will lead to further dates around the uk? Don't think I can head back to Poland again as i'm in Paris to see Tom petty and the hearbreakers .

But if so, I must admit, although to some peoples absolute worst nightmares, I'd love to see him in a stadium, for starters I've never been to a stadium gig and secondly even if it does end up being underwhelming/disspointing, I can say I've seen him in a variety of different locations.

Otherwise all I want is for him to:

get a new set list ( still have hopes)

get a new mixer (Sorry john)

and announce the dates well in advance of the shows in order to get the funds neutral

FWIW, Dr. Funkenberry posted this on his facebook page earlier:

"Sorry to disappoint Prince fans in Poland & overseas. As far as I know, that date is not happening or official at this time.

From what I was able to find out, the promoters say they agreed to the date with Prince but nothing has even been signed.

If things change and this does become an official date, will let you know as soon as possible."

It seems that it's not unusual for promoters to jump the gun when they are certain it's a done deal, even if nothing's technically signed yet.

That might work for the rest, but it's a dangerous game to play with Prince (just ask the BDO organisers in Oz, who were apparently counting on him headlining until deadlines passed and he never ended up signing).

I hope it does get confirmed soon though!

(He could swing by Australia on the way to another tour in Europe right? It's not like it's out of the way...right? Right?)
