I have seen Prince multiple times and normally I manage to hold it together pretty well for a straight dude. The level of excitement is always unreal but still, there is no loss of dignity.

However, the last time I saw him during the Musicology Tour, I pretty much lost my mind during the final guitar solo at the end of Shhh. We were right by the stage and I basically ripped my shirt off and screamed till I was horse with tears rolling down my face in pure orgasmic joy. Didn't care what anyone thought - even if I did it would not have made a difference as it was beyond my control at that point.

My first show was the Purple Rain tour in Indianapolis, In and I cheered, danced, screamed, and nearly cried. I never full on cried at any Prince show, but did get a few tears in my eyes when I saw Wendy open the 7/7/7 concert with the first few chords of Purple Rain and the spotlight was on her.

My first concert was in April of 1997 during the Love4oneanother Tour following the release of Emancipation. I saw him at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. The concert was on a Friday night and my friend called that Wednesday and said Prince tickets were going on sale at Noon. I told her I would call Ticketmaster and get them. She said you have to go to the box office to purchase them. I told her I couldn't go because I had to go to work and she said she couldn't go because she had a midterm. We argued back and forth about which was worse, me losing my job or her failing her midterm and we decided that she should go because I had to have a job to pay for the tickets. We were only 17 at the time. She drove from San Diego to LA, never having been to the Panatges before, and made it just in time to get the last set of tickets.

That Friday when we got to the show we were both so excited, the whole way there we listened to Emancipation, mostly the 2nd disc. We didn't have much money but we stopped before the show and had some really bad take out Chinese food which was mostly inedibile. We wound up just eating peanut M&Ms and drinking Evian water because we were broke and needed gas to get home.

As the show was about to start someone came out and said Prince was sick and they were going to cancel the showl. Everyone boooed. We couldn't believe it. He did end up preforming. It was a short set, maybe an hour and a half. The whole time I was completly star struck. I couldn't believe I was seeing Prince as I had been a fan since I was like 5. 3 or 4 songs into the show he went into Purple Rain and I almost fainted. At that time he was on that kick about never doing his old music and I thought I would never see him play Purple Rain live. The whole experience was amazing. I will never forget it. I remember every detail like it was yesterday. Now I'm 33. I was lucky enough to see him a few times whn he did his 21 nights at the Forum but nothing compares to my first Prince conert!!!

He rocks onstage and has so much energy and talent. I already knew this of course for years, but seeing it in person is great. My view was very good, not too far from the stage though not on the ground either. I kept thinking it was him coming out of the stage when it was his musicians, but when he did, I was just like, damn that's prince! He was moving around so well and had on his glasses and curly hair and I was so into it for the first 3 songs and on my feet the whole time. He kept introducing his band but I kept cheering in his direction. I love his spins and shuffles and energizer bunny moves

I'm so glad he did older songs, this is exactly what I wanted to see at a Prince tour and it worked.

I was so happy to see the DSTYGE mj tribute and was singing along all emotional, hoping Prince could spot me

Kiss blew me away, I was screaming and nearly emotional during the breakdown at the end with how he danced.

The medley was great, but When Doves Cry needed to be done on it's own, honestly. Little Red Corvette was reworked so well and so sexy, I almost didn't recognize it.

It was amazing to see Jungle Love, Nasty Girl and Play That Funky Music included in the show. The audience was really jamming to the older songs and I was impressed cause most people act like they are into today's music more, but a lot of these people didn't look much older than me....or look good for their age. Excuse me if I sound ageist, but I guess I was happy to see all the support.

And the man is a tease, I kept thinking the show is over and people kept leaving cause he would disappear, but then he would return to do more songs and do the same thing does he do this regularly or was it cause of opening night ?

Want to hear something funnier? I would look at the screen and be like OMG it's Prince, and look at him in person and feel like he's a human being though we know it, duh, but it wasn't occuring to me later on in the show it's the same person though I know it , I guess I was excited.

In conclusion, I got my money's worth. He's the best male artist I've seen perform that's still alive.

It's strange, when I first saw Prince on Oct 5, 2002 I was strangely not star struck. It was a great show but I just had the feeling he is a musician doing a job, it kind of shattered the cult of personality around him. There were also some quite weird fans there that put me off a little...

Aug 1 - 4 2007 was good, i liked these concerts more and I enjoyed doing the VIP on Aug 4th. Although impressed by his talent, I again wasn't so stage struck but was nice to see him up close.

July 3, 2011 Hop Farm was my favourite so far, there was a great vibe and I made eye contact with Prince across the crowd, it felt as if I was the only one there...it felt like a connection, I can't really explain it but it was cool. I liked the way he often looked up to the sky as if to pray in between songs too...

It was cool when he danced at the edges of the stage too by the 'Danger...Noise' signs...

Again, I wasn't really 'star struck' but just thought what an amazing musician and artist this person is...it was hard to believe sometimes he's the same person that's written all those hits through my childhood as he looks pretty young,youthful and energetic.....

It was also cool that Hop Farm is only 40 minutes from where I live, so to me it really felt like he was 'coming home'....

I was excited for the music and talent the most I find, and though I was like wow that's Prince, I didn't feel it in full like with other celebs. I guess I felt about the same as you too though he could really work a stage.

I really believe now more than ever that if I saw MJ (came so close with o2 tickets), I would have been insane the whole time. I knew I would be cause of my concert tapes, and no one else can give me that rush though I get energized at shows anyway.

I couldn't move. Not that I didn't have enough space, people were nice and not pushing, just because I was paralysed. I wasn't dancing, I was just... looking at him, I had that huge smile on my face and those over-sparkling eyes. I wanted to remember as much as I could from that 1st experience and barely blinked, I was just in awe. He didn't look at me (I probably looked way too creepy for him!! Hahaha, he did look at me the day after though while singing ''I don't care pretty baby'' in Take Me With U ) but often during the show, during his guitar solos, he would leave the mic and stand right in front of me and start play his guitar. The rest of the world didn't exist then. There was nobody else in that room but me holding that barrier and him playing his guitar. Those images are so vivid in my head. I wish I could burn a DVD out of my brain! After the show, and after every numerous encores, John threw his drumsticks in the crowd. That adorable photographer took the one that fell between the stage and I and gave it to me. I got the one that he used during the whole show, not during one of the encore, so mine is really used, I love it!

That show seemed to last forever, it ended at 3h30 in the morning.

As creepy, crazy-passionnate and stupid as it can sound, all I could think of was ''Now I can die''.

I know... I'm a passionate fan

So that was my first reaction to Prince live.

Wow, good for you, after just your 1st P concert! What a great memory you will always have! A pic with Prince (which is very rare indeed).

Yeah, lol, that's probably the closer I'll ever get to have a picture WITH Prince

I was a teenager in '88- I was so - Non stop: DANCING-I knew most of the moves- -SINGING along-I knew

all the lyrics- HAPPY-- that I was allowed to go and that my mom bought tickets .

but EMBARRASSED--after intermission- because Prince then

became the --NASTY MAN--- DIRTY MIND I went with my cousin,who drove us there,

upstairs to the lobby she was about ready to leave. I was confused because before the intermission

Prince was all about Love and God. .

I kept peeping from the top to see if he calmed down and they stopped being nasty on stage,

Minutes later , I noticed it was okay to go back to our seats. I was begging my cousin

lets go back to our seats because I didn't want to leave. She refused and all I remembered

hearing the crowd cheering and screaming and

when I heard the sound of one of my favorite songs starting to play. I ran down those steps

so fast to get back

to my seats. I was happy that I was able to stay. Prince had calmed down, he cleaned up his act-

I was wishing my cousin had return back to her seat, but she never did . I really enjoyed the concert .

Well, maybe more because it was my --FIRST.

I'm happy today, as a parent, that I was able to bring my children to experience

their FIRST concert in 2004.

I was even happier because I knew that they were going to see a very talented man, who

stepped up his game who can now show the world, , you can perform without

degrading yourself.Even though as a imperfect man and will mistakes like the rest of us

Today you can see that he is trying to be Conscientious, Respecting ,and Responsible adult

and being a Role model to inspiring muscians. But most of all is striving to be a God fearing man.

Today, I respect and understand why my cousin never returned to her seat in 1988

because in 2004, before I picked up the phone

to purchase our tickets, I knew I didn't have to worry about Prince and his wild side.

It was nice to absorb all that talent from all the band members up on that stage and not

one time did I have to worry what Prince was going to do next.

, My children really enjoyed their 'first' concert. To see them in awe was--PRICELESS.

The next day my oldest picked up his guitar and has been playing ever since.

that is what --MUSICOLOGY--was all about.

-I was proud to see PRINCE, a black man ,who did not let his ego and fame

stopped him from making that change.

He had finally looked in the mirror and decided with GOD's HELP

ehh.. it was good but not incredible. My expectations were probably too high. Definately not the best I have ever seen BUT I would see him again if tickets were reasonable

i have noticed lately that many writers have noted, often with irritation, Prince's continuous reference to the city's name during his shows.

my memory tells me he has always done this. in april 1988, lovesexy tour my 1st show, Prince kept saying:

"head...pittsburgh, 1 word, head..."

i remember thinking "wow, he loves being here"

Inwardly I might have felt the same but outwardly i was stunned in amazement. I wanted to go up and thank Prince but was too afraid, shy and scared. He was standing with Larry and I wanted to tell them both how I loved their funky music But I had been warned not to talk to Prince or the Band members by folks who had been there longer than I.

Now I just get delirious whenever he's near or I'm listening to his huge catalogue
