hi folks
on my way home from a great evening we were let into the hall in the middle of the soundcheck. our man was on the stage and fooled.around. reminded me on the good old club days at ona. lasted for about 15 to 20 min. then he left, ida, john and mr hayze stayed a bit longer. concert started at about 20.30 and lasted till 23.05. so fair enough altough it could.have been longer 
concert was just great. a few highlights: gold empty room when doves cry hot thing nothing compares purple rain do me baby ..... all full versions no songs from other artists (altough i dont mind if he plays them Iike that) we were standing in front of the stage- he was in so ggod mood and laughing all the time. crowed went nuts in the complet stadium. people at the last rows where dancing and singing. just perfect. tired for now seems as there would be no aftershow prince come back soon!!!! From looking at the big screens on the uploaded youtube clips, it seems like there were more camera angles than at the other concerts I've seen this summer. Am I totally wrong about that? If so, maybe this concert was filmed with the intention of a release of some kind?

No, sorry to disappoint you. My wallet is on hiatus now, and will be for quite a while. I think I saw more 2011 shows than 20ten stuff and for 20ten I saw all normal stuff. It was like predicted a concert full of hits and less unknown songs...Like that it was funny to see the first people leave after "Kiss" when they had heard the songs they knew. Then I startetd to hope for some more unknown songs for us the real fans. Would also liked to hear DMSR, Laydown, Stratus, Guitar... So moreover I was hoping to see him return after lights went on at the end and all would have started to leave (like in Milano 2010 and others). But it was hot in the Hallenstadion...black sweat run down all the time. Nothing about a Icehockey Stadium. Highligths were gold, the beautiful ones, piano medley, empty room... Was nice to see him in kind of a perfect mood. Greeting to the germans waiting with me in front of the standing places area and discussion about opener song...it WAS GOLD, indeed | |

I'm back at my computer and still somewhere in the clouds. It was my first P-concert ever, and the best concert in general I ever saw in my whole life (Im mid-40). I don't know where to begin. I was about 5 meters from his catwalk, and could see and hear everything and everyone very clearly. Prince was in a good mood, lots of smiles and laughters, talking to the audience (I had a feeling he was trying to make it up to the swiss fans because of Genevas fiasko... although it wasn't his fault). I loved the stage, the light show, the sound was a bit blurry in the beginning, but got better later.
I can't remember all of the songs, nor the order, but there were

Epic moment? Must have been his dance during/after Kiss. The stadium almost collapsed after that. (There's a vid on the tube of that moment, but I don't know if I,m allowed post the link...) And of course, the way he kept screaming "Switzerlaaaaaaaaaaand!!!" I've seen quite a few concerts in Hallenstadion, and I know it's not easy to make Swiss audiences bounce and yell the way he did it yesterday. So yeah, it was a good concert
If I had to critisize ONE thing, it would be the visuals. Since I'm a vj myself, I espacially payed attention to these, and I found that the VJ-guy kind of repeated them after about half the show... As beatiful as they were, he played them back and forth, espacially that seismograph-thing ... As if he didn't have enough material, or he just didn't cope with the fact that prince's concerts are spontaneous and unpredictable... but that was just an impression of me.
So now I got a few vids I took with my iPhone, but I'm not sure I'll be able to show them to you, coz they seam to delete them on the tube, right? I have a personal webspace where I could upload them to, would that be allowed to post the links then? [Edited 8/18/11 7:09am] | |
