You can't file a "SAMMELKLAGE" in germany, because the german lawsystem doesn't know that, afaik.
[Edited 7/29/11 8:04am] [Edited 7/29/11 8:04am]

So did the official promoter -> (from the other thread)
In response to the articulated criticism towards the course of yetserday's conert by Prince, which we contentaly and moraly understand, we would like to state the follwoing as local representative:
Neither the promoter nor the venue has any influence on the sound at all. Aspects like sound levels, set lists or production are responsabilities of the artists and their respective crews alone. All equipment for sound and light for yesterday's concert was being brought and handled by the artist and his crew. Neither Dirk Becker Entertainment as promoter nor Lanxess Arena as place of event have a saying on the length of a concert event. There were no regulations being made for yesterday's concert with Prince that the concert had to be ended at any certain time. Those decisions are/were being made by the artist alone.
We regret any inconveniences experienced by fans and would like to present a statement by the artist or his management towards yesterday's incidents, but despite numerous attempts we didn't come across one as yet.
I think i know which of these two statements is more believable

ER?...what's the connection between Norway and a legitimate complaint?
People get ripped off and because of the tragedy in Norway they don't do anything???

I don't need my money back.

.
You got a show, why should you ask for money back?
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yes , i agree new show would be good, but if doesn't happen then i'm okay with that 2.

Excatly. I've bought a ticket for bad, worse and worst gigs and I have never asked my money back. Same thing concerns movies, art etc.
Get over it, please. Prince could have sucked in Germany, but he sure didn't do that in Helsinki. "Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice."

Er.......just just because the show was good in Helsinki, the orger (who paid quite a large sum of money) shouldn't complain about Cologne??????
Someone is gonna have to explain the logic here..I'm getting old.

Just ignore people who weren't there. No point in making comments if you haven't experienced the concert in my opinion. Prince I will always miss and love U.

Maybe I put in on the wrong thread, but there were a lot of people complaining how Prince sucks these days in general. That's not true.
What comes to those "getting money back for louzy gig"- stuff, I still don't see how can anyone do that. These things happen, asking money back or giving a law suit is not the normal practice with the "bad" concerts, movies, plays etc. I'm still sorry for German fans. OK, point taken.
But you know , maybe things need to change.
Consumer protection is increasing in all areas.
If service, food is bad in a resturaant you have recourse.
If yur washing machine is faulty or if the trousers you buy are not as advertised, you have recourse.
Why not for a show at 80€???
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I could say my opinion, in general. It's odd to ask money back (or give a lawsuit) because of a bad concert, if he DID a gig. 75-90 minutes is quite normal time for certain bands, but not for Prince, of course.
Poor sound, expensive tickets and louzy performance suck, but you don't ask money back, you just don't go the next gig. I've witnessed a huge amount of terrible concerts with awful sound, but I couldn't ask my money back. It just doesn't work like that.
However, Prince should put his package together - otherwise there a lot of countries out of his next tour in Europe. Helsinki is not one of them, though. Here he was great, but with Cologne that obviously wasn't the case. I feel bad for the people who were there. I agree it's a difficult area.
But I also think that there's no point complaining to ourselves.
The organisers/Prince etc have to know that certain behaviour/quality, whatever is not acceptable.
It's the only way to make things improve.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Agree. Send a complain to Prince's organizers (or man himself, if you can). That's only way to get anykind of improvement. Obviously Prince's tour has been changing from the great success to poor ones. It shouldn't be so. To be honest, regardless if there was a sound problem, and to me there wasn't. I was at front row, and I didn't hear the best sound, it went up and down and if someone was fiddling around with the sound, but he could have played, he could have pulled it off, cause everyone was so excited and it began perfectly.
We had no idea what the problem was. Of course he felt the problems, cause he had problems on stage. Now we know he had problems before with sound in other cities, and for someone at his calibre, he should do proper soundcheck to make sure everythign goes well.
Obviously he didn't make a soudncheck in Cologne, which leads me to
a) he doesn't give a fuck or thinks he can pull it off regardless of any fuck ups in the sound b) he's tired and just wants the tour to be over and done with - reason why plays those damn hits c) he needs the cash d) he's got other issues with the band e) he's tired
I wish he'd cancel the shows so that we don't get more disappointments...but there will be more...Cologne wasn't the end...I can guarantee you...cause he is very tired....for whatever reasons...we don't know about... Prince I will always miss and love U.

that is a totally different issue, and he played the same songs at shows that people said were the best they had ever seen My Legacy

I'm sorry but for a man that has such an extensive song repertoire with great songs as he does...it's not understandable why he'd play the hits...unless he's retarded...but I think Prince needs to have a break...asap...before he has a breakdown on stage...
Prince I will always miss and love U.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
sure, but that does not really relate to what people say the real problem at that show was--ie it was too short and the sound sucked, or that he was in a bad mood--because he played the same songs with the same band at shows that were long, had good sound, and he was in a good mood. My Legacy

no the must silly is.... "i want my money back",,, "prince sucks..."
i´m just saying .. that u have experience bad sound... not a bad performance... so what´s the deal..?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I understand that it is upsetting when you go to a show and the sound is bad but come on painful and scary is a bit much. I am beginning to think that we have too many young people who need to get a grip on reality. Sometimes you can be disappointed with something but you go to deal with it and move on. It would be great if the venue and Prince refunded tge money but no way in hell can you sue to get your money back. Concerts are hit and miss with gurantee that the sound will be perfect or the show will be a certain length.
