Fantastic concert even from the sound check entertainment whilst waiting to get in. I managed to get a position right at the front and the set list was amazing. Prince was on fire baby...

My only critisism was the drunken ladies behind me who continousing spilt drinks and on us, were smoking spliffs and trying to get one of the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble to take them back stage !!!

pmsl..what an amazing gig,malahide was a fantastic venue,lovely little seaside town with a possitive vibe,perfect weather most of the day,and Prince was in rare form...tickets were in short supply,the irish crowd were fantastic,and about the aftershow,Prince lost a close friend this week,maybe he didnt feel like it,plus he got to go to oslo next,an whole country in mourning after the recent killings........anyone who was at Malahide Castle know they got a great show,great memories and and value for money..i travelled from england and am well pleased,,just to here SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN APRIL ,one of my favs..Malahide Castle had a king in residence on saturday,a purple reign for a few hours ,and its written in the history of Malahide,thank for a great day ,love on ya .xxxxxxxxxxx

Well, to answer what you're saying with a bit of perspective

setlist predictable,

Setlist was poor if you're a massive fan who has seen the hits 21 times in London already, no one is arguing, or should be arguing, with that. We can all think of 30 songs we'd personally prefer to hear. However, for a 100% pure hits show, it was very, very good. Prince wasn't phoning it in if that's what you're getting at.

Not at all, it was very good for a huge show like this. Better than croke park would have been.

Dunno, I don't think so. They were saying there would be a 'limited' number of tickets available at the door, I guess they could literally have been lying about this since we're trying to think the worst possible way of painting the night.

poor sound,

no, sound was great, at least in the pit. The worst thing I can think of is that his guitar was a bit low in the mix for the first 2 or 3 songs but it was quickly fixed.

no aftershow.

aftershow is a different show with different setlist, venue, tickets and sound. Obviously we'd love an aftershow but it's never a guarantee.

Wow, huge hyperbole. One would think that people have started to hate the hits to an absolutely insane degree. You know they're still good songs right? I'm willing to bet he's had worse setlists in the 90s.

concert was great. who care if its hits. Theres a reason these songs are hits and its because they are great songs. Arent these the songs that got u into prince in the 1st place? im sure it wasnt ronnie talk to russia?

It was advertised as a greatest hits show right? So what's the issue when he actually plays his greatest hits then?

My friends and I had a great night and all I could see around me were thousands of smiling faces on people who were having a great night too

I don't care if he plays the hits at shows like this. I got to see him at his majestic best, holding the crowd, being funky and he looked like he himself was having a ball too.

Far to many people being negative about this show, and I am guessing it is those that either couldn't afford to go, or are not true fans.
