Cologne incident Did anyone notice the mamy people queing up at the info-point of the arena in Cologne to sign in for a refund and formal complaints due to the ear-threatening loudness? The sound-mistakes made will no doubt fire back to Prince's camp. There's laws in the European Union that regulate decibels at concerts. Apparently those weren't being taken in comsideration last evening by Prince and his crew. I suggest to anyone who is having serious hearing-problems today to contact an otolaryngologist immediately to have your problems researched, monitored and documented.
I sense that there's something seriously wrong with the way the concert last evening might have threatened people's health. Is there any logic involved in paying considerably high sums of money for a ridiculous performance that might have a lasting damaging effect on your health? Step into action, if the harsh, loud sound did effect your hearing.

BTW there is a difference between "loud" and "so loud that you're thinking your ears are going to bleed". I was at NSJ first show and it was the second kind of loud. Based on multiple comments on the other thread I think Cologne was that loud too. So don't drama-queen the OP. Thank you!

Where are you going with this...and what/where are you hoping it get you?

The audience would drown out the band if they did that.

I guess you've never been to Dinosaur Jr., My Bloody Valentine or Motorhead show. THAT'S LOUD. You are pure, you are snow.
We are the useless sluts that they mould.

Go see Nine Inch Nails then come back and talk about noise levels at concerts.

What's that all about? Why would I need to see NIN? Don't ridicule yourself. Prince ain't NIN. I did attend shows by Peter Gabriel, Coldplay, Pink, Ricky Martin, Cher, Simply Red, Die Ärzte, Stevie Wonder in the Arena, Cologne. I wouldn't want to compare any of them to Prince. But none of the mentioned artists went anywhere near the crap that Prince dared to fire at us yesterday. I hope that he'll never come back. He can disappoint so badly constantly.

I will play the records, for sure. But why do you suggest that I would better stay at home?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Some people one here seem to have enormous problems to handle some serious criticism...
And your point is please? That nobody should go to a concert anymore? Especially if it is a concert by Prionce? We should all better stay at home now? Huh?????
But thanks for your great advice - you're really a clown! [Edited 7/29/11 4:23am] "ohYeeeeeah" said: I'm a massive Bowie fan. Even on Scary Monsters, I always skip Fame ...

It makes me laugh as they sell ear plugs at concerts.
We want it loud, thats part of going to a concert.

Well, had you been there? It wasn't loud, it was insane.

Dont ridicule myself???
Maybe you should re read your original post.

One word (band) : Swans
but besides all that....
I know one thing 4 sure. I cannot imagine it is Prince's intention to fuck up a show. Like the perfectionist he is.
Coming back to the original post that started this thread. What are you getting at? and yes, i can read.
we do not stop playing because we grow old , we grow old because we stop playing

This is exactly the reason why you should wear earplugs or just bring them along just in case.
