Some of the reactions over here give the impression that it's cool to go to an earbleed level concert. Like NIN or motorhead, "that is LOUD"... My dad used to attend these mega loud concerts. Now he can't hear his own cellphone anymore. he's 46. His friend was a drummer and needs to install special doors because everytime a loud noise occurs like a closing door, he is in pain. I doubt the coolness of that.

This is exactly the reason why you should wear earplugs or just bring them along just in case.

This is exactly the reason why such loud concerts should be put a little bit quieter. As I know, it's not obligatory to bring earplugs to a concert. Earplugs can't become a standard requierement for concerts!! What do you get then, a sound engineer mixing the sound with earplugs in? How stupid would that be?

An EU directive has put a maximum sound level for concerts. That should be respected. That's all.

If the volume really was as harmful as what people are saying, then they probably should have made it quieter yes. lol

If a concert is so loud that you HAVE to wear earplugs than there is something wrong. Think about it, if everyone needs to wear them, why don't you just turn the volume down? I thought that was common sense but apparently it's not. rolleyes

grandpa

don´t give me that grandpa.!! i guess cologne people are speaking the truth about the volume... but all other complaining.. money back.......... i don´t like

I wouldn't laugh about that if I were you....Read about it.

Loud or too loud...is often a matter of the personal feeling indeed.

However, although I like it loud & want to also "feel" the music literaly...this was also to loud for the speakers/PA. The sound was therefore not clear anymore, and a true pain in my ears also for this reason.

Not sure if it would have been really better -not blurry- if it was not set as loud as it was.

Besides this, Prince never was (and never should be) in the same catergory as some mega-loud concerts/artists. (=As the sound & the music does not require this - it is even making it worse)

On top of this, why make fun about people complaining about the concert was too loud or serious health problems which might arise from it? If there would be a minority, the argue of using any kind of personal noice reduction would be OK, but here it was more the majority complaining about it....(and yes, I would include myself to the complaning list too...)

[Even there might have been -for example- also problems with the sound last year in Berlin, no way as bad or loud as this]

Did anyone notice the mamy people queing up at the info-point of the arena in Cologne to sign in for a refund and formal complaints due to the ear-threatening loudness? The sound-mistakes made will no doubt fire back to Prince's camp. There's laws in the European Union that regulate decibels at concerts. Apparently those weren't being taken in comsideration last evening by Prince and his crew. I suggest to anyone who is having serious hearing-problems today to contact an otolaryngologist immediately to have your problems researched, monitored and documented.

I sense that there's something seriously wrong with the way the concert last evening might have threatened people's health. Is there any logic involved in paying considerably high sums of money for a ridiculous performance that might have a lasting damaging effect on your health? Step into action, if the harsh, loud sound did effect your hearing.

Where there's blame, there's a claim!!

What a prick! get a job!!
