Came home at 1800, bought a ticket at 1900, walked into Ahoy at 2000! This is my personal record. bananadance

Concert was very energetic. Prince calling out 'You gotta slow down, I am not as fast anymore..... Don't you believe it!'

Was it me or was the sound quality uhhmm... sub-optimal? Way too much treble.

Never thought I would get to see Gold live. Nice opening!

Curious to hear what others feel/remember about the show.

Great concert! So much better than the first NSJ concert, where bad sound and light spoiled all the fun. Prince was such pleasure to watch and listen to, everything he does, looks and sounds great! To bad it was only 125 minutes. And I so envy the guy who got his guitar at the end!

You do know security took it back before you could take a picture of yourself with it.

And man were there again a lot of people taking pictures! I don't know why people keep taking these crappy resolution pics, but I totally cannot understand why you would review and discus them with your friends during the show!

Edit:

Oh, by the way: He played GOLD!!

A few additions to the setlist :

gold

purple rain

let's go crazy

delirious

Let's go crazy

1999

little red corvette

take me with you

raspberry baret

cream

Cool/ Don't stop till you get enough (MJ)

--------

A famous tune that I don't know the name of (sung by the three girls)

let's work

Chocolate with "A beautiful night" chants

u got the look

---------

kiss

---------

if I was your girlfriend

---------

controversy

---------

The bird

Jungle love

I think I've forgotten one or two tracks.

Prince was in a great mood, very convincing vocals, blistering version of Little Red Corvette, lots of great guitar licks and solos throughout the concert. Sound was not perfect but better than last year in Arnhem.

It was a bit short concert though tonight, just over two hours I believe. But the waiting time between the encores was quite long, I think he hasn't played more than about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I also thought it was a bit odd that there were so many one song encores, for me that spoiled a bit of the flow of the concert. But it was definately a good show!

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Oh and he played quite a bit of bass, and had a little keyboard that he used for giving little solos. At one point he played the keyboard and guitar at the same time!

GOLD???? Are you freakin kidding me?? That's totally my anthem! Last time I heard him sing it was Glasgow, March 1995 & those few minutes changed my life forever.

I knew it, I bloody knew it, I knew he was gonna play Gold soon & betcha he plays it at Dublin & I'll not be there now!!

Oh lack a day ... sad I'm now away to cry in a corner with my old sticky tootsie pop.

Please do a little surprise Scottish Gig O+>, you know it would be such a beautiful night! wink

I had a great time. Pince was enjoying homself and so where we.

One question though: Does his sound-man has hearing problems? I thought sound was way to loud (still hear it in my ears now, about 10-11 hours after the show).

And i said it after Arnhem and will say it again: playing time songs to end the show is a let down to me. I like these songs and am okay with them being played, but there should be better ways to round things up.

Drums were a bit soft, but that could be because of my position in the hall, near the soundboard. It was loud, but not too loud to my opinion. the vocals were clear.

The setlist was great, though I would've liked to hear some more recent songs too.

The jam with two bass players (inc Prince) was very enjoyable.

The sound was quite loud and harsh, we found it very difficult to hear wat Prince was saying to the audience - strange thing was the backup singers were very easy to understand, less distorted.

The long breaks at the end were a bit odd, with the lights on and with Prince saying goodbye a couple of times, it changed the relaxed and happy vibe in the audience (annoyed some, made others tense); does the band do this more often?

GREAT GREAT SHOW! Very TIGHT, UPTEMPO and with a killer opening; GOLD! with millions of golden confetti. Show could have stopped there for me and I would be happy. Yes it was a hits show (exept for chocolate), but I brought my dad along, he last saw Prince in 2002 and I wanted him to hear/see the Kiss & LRC versions of this tour, he loved it! He thought this was Prince in his glory days, happy and Andy being a young Sheila.

Lots of hits but last night it totally worked, the roof went of, the seated section didn't sit for one minute and around me people went nuts.

Just one minor; the sound wasn't very steady, in the end to loud and sharp again, not that bad as nsj first night but on the edge...

PRINCE & CREW: THANKS FOR THE GREAT HOLLAND SHOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on the first ring, about 2/3 to the back.

Also found it hard to understand what Prince was saying.
