Mwoah... Kinda like the 'pit' (cercle d'or or whatever) in Paris? We need an updated picture. Also: weather forecast still OK? What about the day before the show? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I will send picture of the stage and pit when they are built. Had a jog in the park last night and the stage is 30% built, pit area is not sectioned off yet. There was a full crew working @ 8.30pm last night, huge activity going on. No rain in Malahide the past days, just very warm, the ground is very dry, expect no mud what so ever. will keep ye all posted !

Saturday looks good anyway - if you're arriving early (ie Thursday) better be prepared for some light rain

I'm in the states and not going to this show, but I check this thread every day to see what's been added to the Prince countdown graphic.
I hope Prince repays you all with a great show!

Thanks for the update. I would never normally go to a show that early but might just make the efoort. Should be a good, long show if Prince starts on time.

As long as it doesn't rain between now and then I will be happy. Don't want the ground all muddy.

It’s going to be one of the most talked about shows of the year, everything is looking good for a Prince show with just four days till the show and today we know the support act to warm us up. The high energy nine piece Hypnotic Brass Ensemble have been announced as the very special guests to Prince on July 30th in Malahide Castle. We can tell you that gates will open at 4pm, 5.45pm will see those Hypnotic Brass Ensembles rocking the stage with Prince set to start his greatest hits show at 8pm. There is a curfew of 10.45pm so we largely expect about two and a half hours of glory. Were told there will be several bars (obviously learning from their Forbidden Fruits endeavours) and there will be all kinds of food and delicacies such as The Oyster Bar, Rathmullan House, Cajun Chicken Salad, Thai Noodles, Chinese Food, Fish and Chips, Gourmet Burgers,BBQ Steaks and retro ice cream bar with knickerbocker glories. Dear lord could that be worth the price of admission itself! Prince fans can expect a set list that includes all his classics; Kiss, Purple Rain, U Got that Look, Rasberry Beret, 1999, Cream, Alphabet St., When Doves Cry, Diamonds and Pearls, Little Red Corvette, Let’s Go Crazy, Paisley Park, If I was Your Girlfriend, Adore, Take Me With U, Housequake and Nothing Compares to U. Tickets for Prince’s unmissable Dublin show are on sale now. Seated and standing ticket s available from EU89.50 (incl booking fee) at Ticketmaster.ie. 4pm Gates

With anticipation at fever pitch for Prince's Dublin date on Saturday July 30, he's pulling out all the stops to ensure an unforgettable night by adding the sensational Hypnotic Brass Ensemble to the bill. An irresistible eighteen-legged collective, the Ensemble are the perfect way to kick off what promises to be one of the gigs of the year. Gates for Prince's Greatest Hits show at Malahide Castle this Saturday will open at 4pm and at 5.45pm Hypnotic Brass Ensemble will take to the stage. Prince is expected onstage at 8pm and is set to play right up to curfew at 10.45pm.

Is anyone from around the East of England going to this gig?! "...because no-one gets there alone." - "...I like the floor. It's the only thing that seems real."

I am soooooo jealous of everyone attending this concert on Saturday. I managed to catch Prince 3 times at the 02 in 2007 and one very memorable aftershow at the Indigo - what a night. I really tried to make it to this show but couldn't persuade any of my friends to cough up the money for a ticket and I'm just not brave enough to go on my own . If only Dublin wasn't so far away from Donegal!!
Anyway....I know its going to be an absolutley BRILLIANT night so I really hope you all have a blast .
