What struck me in this show was Prince's passion. He did every song with conviction and emotion. You had to be there to feel this. He was enjoying himself, took his time.

When I lay my hands on U was hot! The moaning and screaming, the drama!

Wow.

Agreed, it was MUCH better compared to a few days before in Gent.

Just did a quick count and saw he played 60 different songs, and only Controversy and Pass the Peas twice. smile

Pass the paes was performed by Maceo the second time.

By the way, Maceo hasn't been mentioned yet. He was there for all three nights and brought quality to the concert. The man truly is the funkiest man in Holland!

The audiance responded wild to Maceo being there. He was great.

Thank you Maceo!

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I'm sorry for you guys. I don't understand how people get the impression that a concert is a social event. Before and after it is, however during a concert it's about the music. And sharing glances of happiness or apreciation.

I really want to thank the guys that I shared my Prince experience with on Saturday and Sunday. It was great, and you were so nice to me and not being stupid male assholes wanting something out of our good, fun contact.

Male politeness is something I noticed all three days. There was just one guy who was giving me an attitude when I didn't respond to his charms. Other flirts were just nice and friendly and not intrusive at all. I have had so many great contact during this festival with women and men from all ages, having fun dancing and talking about music without the men making a move or wanting something from me. Men actually can be polite, respectful and fun. That was a positive experience.

Oh dear God, everyone was after her again. falloff

I really wonder what she looks like. She must be extremely hot. wink

GIRL???????????????????? I would give my left breast to see that live!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy you still have your breasts though! Cherish them! They are good atributes and next to your beautiful your best selling points wink

The concert was great, and I'm sure you will see it live once. Just keep your breasts honey! Tuck them in warm lol

How was Something In The Water? Was it a piano version, a light guitar version like he did during ONA, or acoustic, or something completely different? That song is probably the one song that´s gone through the biggest changes throughout the years. One of my all time favorite songs, especially the mid 80s long rehearsal versions.

And did Empty Room sound like the ONA tour version?

Cassandra on the piano (playing), Prince singing and on the piano (standing) smile

Empty Room was similar (as in ONA) but not the same, as far as I can recall - my memory actually only goes back as far as Friday July 8 2011. ONA is so 2002 smile

3 words about this show A MAZ ING. Definatelly worth the gamble of travelling over from here to.

Laydown
Question of U
When eye lay my hands...
GIRL
She's always in my hair
Calhoun square
Future soul song
Something in the water...
people pleaser is mighty funky btw

I think those songs speak for
Themselves of course
Shite loads of guitar work and solos
Prince oo-ing and woo-ing the hell out of the mic (like old school prince)
Maceo Parker - adds class to the show

Only shame was the ending felt a little abrubt but still

You already responded to it, but got no reaction so you thought you'd try it again, huh? Cool. I'll give you what you want.

If you don't want to come here (as much) anymore, then simply don't. No need to announce it (for the second time). The world does not revolve around you. It will be business as usual here at the org.

Leave or stay and keep humoring us with your self-indulgent, long winded posts where you never fail to slip in a comment about how hot you are, men desperately trying to get in your panties or a simple "rape-by-look". I mean, what were they thinking? They're obviously not in your league. How dare they look at you!?

Whatever you decide to do, have fun and don't take every comment or yourself so seriously.

my only complaint is I wasn't closer!!! he opened with laydown, we got the one, gingerbread, when I lay my hands... omfg! the filthy noises coming out that man. girl!!! empty room, pix later!! now where the fuck is my hotel

falloff hope you've found it! Looking forward 2 the pix biggrin

wink

ok so it wasn't just prince's shawl that was twirly & swirling!! my brain too!

i couldn't give much of a report with my mobile & anyway others were on it..

so i will just say i loved the show, it was worth the drive from the uk.

the hands down highlight 4 me was calhoun sq, as he began i was like, noooo way!!!! one of my faves & this was so cool live, rockgod magic!..

when i lay my hands on u was a very sexy performance,

he said something to andy allo at some point, it sounded pervy, whatever.. then he launched in2 bedroom noises & suchlike, blimey! .. hush, blush flush & gush throughout venue

i enjoyed future soul song too!

very classy track sounded fantastic live, lalalalahhss & shoobeedoos

the band had a blast, everyone looked relaxed, it felt balanced.

i love how prince has brought andy allo in2 the mix..

she's a model, a muse. she's there to look pretty, she's performance art, adds creative fun dimension to the tour

i think she would look great wearing stuff inspired by prince's past eras!.. polka dot, buttons down shorts, purple rain glasses

i did get some half decent pics, but the atmostpheric & intimate lighting, fog, dim lights & strobing & stuff made it a bit hit & miss.. maybe prince had a plan?! my dodgy seating didn't help matters either really

will post some more tomorrrow!

The setlist looks great! I think the last time he did Partyman and calhoun sq was at the Indigo. And have been dying to hear live stuff from 20ten, esp songs like FSS. And he played Girl! Although he was fab in the UK all we got was one show with hits after hits after hits....
Really wish I went to the NSJF instead now.

Thanks to all the people giving there time to post their reviews. Great setlists for all of NSJF.
Wish I had planned this properly this year would of gone to more shows but too many other prorities of family, holidays etc the cost of it all. Well realistically couldnt of gone to all them standing festivals this year anyway my leg has been injured for many months, Hop farm was hard enough. But saying that soon as I heard the music and Prince walking on stage I miraculously forgot that I had any injury at all :-P

Hope he doesn't hang up his heels after this tour is over and does loads more shows next year, if not sooner! Hes still and always has been is the greatest performer on earth.

Amazing show for this and the Saturday night too. Great choice of setlist and most played as full, long, drawn-out versions. Loved all the screams and the groans too lol

These two nights were really like being at an aftershow. Just wish he hadn't let Seal murder Mountains the night before. mad

Hmm. My pictures seem to disappear...

So second night was best, according to many people who attended. I can't believe anything could be better than the third night! (I was there, also the first, didn't go to the second)

In the end I think it's ok he didn't have any extra guests during this third show (apart from the amazing Maceo). The show was intense and all about Prince, his voice, guitar, gestures. It had a great flow.

It could have been a bit longer though. smile

In which way was the second night the better one?

He wore that Elvis-Inspired shawl too and he did sexy, sexy versions of Scandalous/Adore but When I lay my Hands on U sounds even sexier.

Third nights sounds awesome, wish I was there, thanks for reviews.
