If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

My mate called me to say if I'd heard of Janelle to which my response was easily a yes given the last year of prince related material and now it's given him the urge to want to come see prince again saying she was a cross between him and James brown which judging by this video is pretty clear to see why. Does anyone think shell do the NPG festival? If so then were going

last night was the first time I ever heard of her, but this guy on the bbc introduced her performance saying it was his highlight, now i was in pretty bad form as they interrupted queens of the stone age performance for some muppet to say Coldplay were the highlight, but Janelle blew me away, I couldnt believe my eyes or ears, I hope thru some miracle that she will show up at the Hopfarm in kent.

On a rather ironic note she is playing in Ireland and Germany in the next few weeks, but I live in the UK now confused

I think Janelle is going to be at North Sea Jazz festival too.

I love her. The version of Smile she did in LA on 6/12 gave me chills. Her album ArchAndroid is a must have. I like how she mixes genres of alternative, soul, dance, and funk, like Prince.

She is also a fan of MJ, she does the moonwalk and covers I Want You Back.

There is an interesting vid on youtube of her covering Lets Go Crazy, BET awards with Prince in the audience, she has come on quite abit since that performance. I reckon after this weekend she is going to be absolutely massive, I just hope she keeps her head down and concentrates on real music and perfomance.

She is exactly what young people need to see and hear at the moment, given all the plastic music that has saturated the industry over the last few yrs or decade, and I include Coldplay in that bracket, a bunch of overrated session musicians.

If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Lte's talk in about 30 years.....

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

She.is.fabulous.

But only time will tell whether she has Prince's staying power. She's going to need more than a CD sold out of her trunk, an EP and one full album to do that.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

For some reason I ended up watching Beyonce's set on Sunday evening at Glasto (god knows why, can't stand her)...I decided to keep an eye on it in case Prince strolled on stage.

He didnt show up but she did give a pretty good rendition of The Beautiful Ones. Worth checking out if you can find it on You Tube.

I was abit sceptical about watching that, as I was less than impressed with what I had seen on TV of her performance, the first part I think, but credit where it is due, she did a good rendition and mixed in Sex on Fire pretty well, as well.
