If you look at the European Tour thread, one of the replies was from the moderator Gav who said that they were told by Prince's people to hold back on some news they were given early this morning whilst a few things are sorted - news will be revealed soon. Moquake are normally very reliable

I had to ´edit´ the thread title after this message from Gav on Moquake.com.

It´s not confirmed officially, but the deal seems very likely imo.

All

As you've probably notice, some posts and info have dissapeared from this thread.

We've been asked to hold back on some news we were given early this morning whilst a few things are sorted - sorry for the confusion but this should all be back online any day now.

logistically hop farm would make sense as a stage, PA, lights, parking, refreshments, you name it will all be in place, whereas none of that would be in place at the castle, so it would be quicker, easier and cheaper to use hop farm

it'll be muddy as fuck though after the eagles and roxy music fans have trampled the place apart

actually the hop farm lineup isn't bad so if he does play there i might do that too, as i like eagles and roxy music

i need to get some outdoor gear if that's the case. the only time i got outdoors is to visit tescos

lol .. playing in uk is cool, but knee deep in mud & shit not so cool!..

what about rochester castle? i hear they do concerts but i've never been tho

really doubt it will be at Rochester Castle - would be great as friends live there but the gigs they stage are for more low key acts who are much cheaper to book!!

I would guess The O2 (formerly called 'The Point') again - the capacity is 10,000-14,000 depending on seating or standing setup. It's free that night and it is 'A Live Nation Venue'

That's our biggest indoor arena - and I can't see anyone booking him for an outdoor venue as the setup costs are high in case he cancels again and between the bad economy and some ill-will amongst the general public from the Croke Park mess, I doubt he'd sell many more tickets.

Marlay Park could have been an option but 1. it's run by MCD and 2. they've changed it this year from an outdoor 30,000 capacity to a series of smaller gigs in a marquee holding 5 or 6,000 people. But July 30th is free.

Moquake saying that it is Hop Farm and on the 3rd. Have checked their website and festival appears to be only 1st and 2nd so they must've added an extra day for the man (unless I'm hallucinating and imagined what moquake said). Haven't found a pick list for the Sunday yet - but tempted to do the Saturday as well as Morrissey's playing. Wow. Prince and Moz - doing sexymf, Moz doing the rap at the end...

Comin str8 outta Preston...

Press release

PRINCE TO HEADLINE HOP FARM MUSIC FESTIVAL SUNDAY 3RD JULY 2011
Embargoed till 09.00 Wednesday 18 May 2011

Global icon PRINCE is confirmed to headline the Hop Farm Music Festival in his only UK show of the year.

The festival will be extended to a third day to give fans the chance to see Prince in this exclusive one-off UK performance. It will be the first time Prince has played in the UK since he broke sales records at a 21-date residency at the O2 arena in 2007.

Prince will top the bill on Sunday 3 July on the newly announced third day. This makes the 4th annual Hop Farm Music Festival, which already boasts headline performances by EAGLES and MORRISSEY, the biggest to date.

Tickets will go on sale Thursday 19th May at 9am.

Fans that have already purchased two day tickets for Hop Farm will be able to upgrade their tickets to a third day for just £40, (ticket agents will be in contact with current weekend ticket holders).

Supporting acts for the Sunday of the festival will be announced shortly.

The now three-day festival will take place on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July in Paddock Wood, Kent. Maintaining its NO SPONSORSHIP, NO BRANDING ethos, the Hop Farm will be sticking to the winning formula of showcasing legendary and contemporary acts, making it a standout fixture in the congested festival calendar.

Vince Power, the Festival organiser, said: “I am really excited about having Prince at the Hop Farm, we have worked hard to get the third day up and running and we hope that fans will appreciate the integrity of the bill and see it’s one of the most musically exciting this year that stands head and shoulders above a lot of other festivals.”

Prince joins other big names: Iggy and the Stooges, Bryan Ferry, Lou Reed, BrandonFlowers. Patti Smith, Death Cab For Cutie and many more…

The festival has four music stages and includes comedy and campsite stages.

Tickets for the two previously announced days are already on sale and music lovers will be able to snap up tickets for the newly announced third day from 9am Thursday 19th May.

A ticket for the whole of the three-day event will cost £170. Two day tickets (for either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday) are priced at £130 and a single day ticket is £70. Festival-goers who have already purchased two day tickets will be able to upgrade to the third day to see Prince for just £40.

Weekend Camping is £30 (Thurs – Mon) or £25 per day. Children under 12 go in for free (ticket has to be produced).

I wonder where in Kent? Don't matter if I get a ticket I'll drive there and back in a day from Preston.c'mon!parts of London are in kent and u won't go?fingers crossed it's true.

He could be using the same stage as the The Hop Farm which is on 1st/2nd July. Seems strange to be playing Poland one night and then UK the day after though.

Sorry to blow my own trumpet but how right was I on this one razz razz

It's a great venue, a natural amphitheatre that takes 80,000 fans - but they only have one show a year there and that's Kings of Leon at the end of this month.

Unfortunately, I doubt he'll ever sell that many tickets in this country - he'll be too old by the time everyone's Croke Park anger dies down.
