Prince in action at The Forum on Thursday through Saturday after all? Though it's getting close to the would-be showtime and tickets still haven't gone on sale, Prince could be playing this week at The Forum near Los Angeles after all. A clue that signs are now pointing toward shows this weekend was dropped tonight (5/10) by sax player Mike Phillips, a former member of Prince's New Power Generation band, on his Facebook Wall. The post reads: "Hey I'm in L.A. And just got a call from the Purple One.... Yes I got summoned by Prince and I will be a guest on his shows from Thursday to Sunday See you at the Forum.... Let's Get it!!!!!!" Prince backup singer Elisa Fiorillo-Dease added via her Facebook page, "I know that the shows aren't posted up on Live Nation yet...but I know for sure we are doing shows this Friday and Saturday. Not sure about Thursday though...but possibly Sunday. Just to give you a heads up. Not positive though so don't quote me on it." The Forum hadn't officially announced any Prince shows for this week as of press time, and this morning the venue pointed out that other acts are booked at the arena for the following weekend. So far there's no official word from Prince's camp about his next show, which isn't unusual for an organization that always plays things close to the vest. Prince has played 10 of what he said will be 21 total shows in Los Angeles. SoundSpike will continue to follow this story. | |

emailHe was always going to play this weekend. Janelle Monáe is opening for him one of the nights - and that was announced last week (or the week before).
