Oh yeah, silly me, so we can't criticise...I'm just so stupid.

This is weird you can be a fan of a sports team and debate, praise, criticise to your hearts content on a forum, you stil like your team, it's part of the fun, there is no humour or irony in this forum, surely Prince wants real human fans with opinions positive and negative not a stepford fan. Without this we'll all be posting Grafitti Bridge is the new Citizen Kane, Emancipation is the Sgt Pepper for the 90s and NPGMusic Club an example of 5 star customer service. This site needs to grow a pair.

Well let's look at the original posters line of thinking shall we.
Sigers1 posted some time ago that 'Tinie Tempah is the new Prince'.
He has now posted that 'Prince is the new Celine Dion'.
Therefore we can only logically determine from these facts that...
TINIE TEMPAH IS THE NEW CELINE DION
Scientific reasoning can't be wrong.
When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

this reference 2 celine dion can be looked at as celine dion is a vegas act now staying in one location instead of going worldwide, stateside etc ..so that analogy of setting up residency that prince has done in london, vegas and now LA could be accurate man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Saw Prince at the Forum this past May. Been a fan for almost 25 years, saw him perform in London during the Parade tour back in the day, then in LA for Musicology many years later. Always an awesome show. Gives each performance his best. Seeing hime now is like seeing an old friend. He's great. And for $25! You just cannot beat that. I know folks that went to his show several times. Peolple still love the guy.

That's just like saying that if you're a Star Wars fan and went on a forum dedicated to it and since you absolutely hated Eps. 1-3, you shouldn't be on it. Um, have you forgotten there were Eps. 4-6, and that maybe the person LOVES those movies and abhors what was done to the new ones? That IS possible, same as it is here on the org.
The ONLY reason I'm still a Prince fan now is because his earlier work was so strong that it still resonates with me and keeps me coming back to listen to it and talk about it. Official releases, outtakes, live shows, wardrobe, production, associated artists, etc. And I'm sure it's more or less the same for the rest of the so-called haters.

I love this response. I have been seeing him since he was doing shows with The Time, and Vanity 6, Purple Rain days, Glam Slam and so on. It is like seeing an old friend. I also know people who went not just once, but many times. I loved the 21 Night Stand here in LA. It was great.

Yet you've created multiple threads in this forum(some of which were locked) requesting he perform at various places. Seems you're suffering from "foot in the mouth" disease. [Edited 6/9/11 10:04am]

[Edited 6/9/11 10:04am] [/My god you yanks don't get irony Albania! Faroe Islands I was taking the piss a bit like Prince has been doing for the past decade. He's just in it for the money- this forum is really sad as it lacks objectivity- he is not as good live as he was, been playing almost the same shows for years, hasn't made a good album since 1992- I suppose the blessing with no longer being so popular is that we have not got to suffer any more Prince films- saying that if he released Grafitti Bridge now I am certain that the blinkered orgers would be ailing it as the new Citizen Kane

That's not scientific reasoning. It's a fallacy.

Fans of Celine Dion might find Prince his music the most horrific noise they can think of.

I was invited to a Rolling Stones concert 12 years ago. I respect obviously the Stones, however, the concert didn't do it for me. I didn't feel the energy. For me, at that moment, they seemed to old and run down.
A lot of true Rolling Stones fans probably thought it was a great concert.
Same goes for Prince. I'm a fan, and because I've listened to his music during different times in my life, oftentimes to console myself, a concert by Prince is a very personal experience for me.
I enjoy and love his concerts. However, last time in Antwerp, I was late, was in the back of the venue, couldn't see him on stage. I wasn't into it. And did think a few times "oh, no, not that one again?" I think I just was grumpy, because of the bad seating. Not to be with the true fans in the front is harsh as a fan.
However, for this summer I'm spending all my money (that I actually can't afford) to go see him perform in the Netherlands. I'm looking forward to his concerts. I do hope that at the Jazz festivals, he will go overboard and not stick to his hits routines, however, will play and jam with other musicians and truly connect with his instruments and music.
And when he will stick to his hits and repeats his acts, then maybe next concert tour, I will only see him perform once and will not attend all his concerts. Because, I don't want to spend all my money on him anymore.
However, I missed out, last year, on his Arnhem, Geldredome concert, because I just had no money. And I hated it, to hear other people talk about seeing him. While, they weren't even fans.
So, probably, even if I'm not thrilled by his concerts this years, next time I will probably buy a ticket again. Allways afraid to miss that once in a life time special Prince concert
