21 Nights yawn is Prince the new Celine Dion

This is all getting a bit boring now, same set lists for years, lots of covers (not Stratus again), endless solos, can he not just retire so we can remember how good he used to be. He was too good, to end up being a glorified cabaret act the Harlem Globetrotter of Soul, not in the real game any more

LMAO!! As funny and as bad as that sounds, you're 100% correct. I'd rather him not perform anymore than see him get more Vegas-y with each passing year. Just release your old shows on DVD and be done with it. That's where the good shit was, anyway.

I wish that he would set up shop in Vegas at a small intimate club like he did with 3121. Too say something is "Vegasy" is an old stereotype. I've seen Prince some 40 times and know his history as many of us on here do. I've looked at alot of the old setlist from what many consider the golden age of tours. I had read for years that the setlist changed from night to night by so much. In reality, I don't see it. Yea, these multiple nights do repeat but he also changes a few songs. The afterparties are where it's at and on this tour I haven't see to much about afterparties.

Sometimes I really hope he does read what we have to say but there are alot of times that I hope he just ignores some of our complaints...He can't make us all happy. As I've said before, I don't like this tour not so much for the setlist but rather that damn huge stage. Yea, it looks great from further away and above the stage or even on video but I'm one of those guys who likes to be right up front...and not have the musician disappear while he has to work other parts of the stage.

It wasn't just the fact that he changed the set lists around more in the "golden age" which he did, he played his hits plus new music from albums that would became classics Parade, SOTT, etc. Now his new music is not progressive just derivative and his concerts just look to the past. Its such a shame

Yeah...who wants to hear Prince & the Band kill it on a classic jam vehicle like 'Stratus'. Man...some people.

To some extent I agree. I wasnt going to go to this concert because even though I'm a loyal devoted fan of his it all seemed so predictable and I thought I'd skip it.
But a 1st timer called & wanted to go & I got $25 seats so what the heck. He's the best live performer around, it'll be good but is kinda sad.
My girlfriend told me 15 years ago that Prunce would end up in Vegas bloated like Elvis and I was like NOOOOO! But we both knew she was right. It's only a matter of time.

I think of 21 Night Stand as a smart choice. Imagine the cost of transporting a live show around the country, fuel cost etc... Also who else in the business can sell that many tickets in one venue that many nights? If he didn't play the old hits and did a new album with new stuff, most of old fans would bitch about not being able to get their purple rain on... blah, blah, blah~ To compare Prince to Celine is just bitchy~ As much as Prince has done your cup still isnt full. boo hoo~

He should retire because you don't like him anymore ? You're just one of these annoying (former) Prince fans who think they are so important that the world revolves about them.

Wow those drugs are making you come to a messge and write crazy bullshit. The set list change all the time and people are raving about these shows but do not let the facts stop you.

You and all the other so-called former fans who hate RnB music can take your snob ass bullshit and stick it. Someone needs to also let you know no one in the sets refers to shows as cabaret acts. No one talks like that anymore it is old and tired.

If you have a problem remembering how good he used to be, they have stuff in the health food store that helps you improve your memory. Maybe reading information about his current activities is pushing old memories out of your brain and you should find other reading material.

I wouldn't argue the point that he's creatively way past his peak. But I got so much out of that show last week. I'd never heard him do Stratus before. And I thought the 2 new songs on Lopez were real good.

Look most artists have a 10 year intensely creative run at most. After that it's about maintaining. I think he's still performing at a REALLY high level. If he'd done another show as weak & predicatable as the one at Nokia Theater in 09 I might no go again. But that show last week re-charged my batteries & I am HAPPY he's still around.

The only boring thing is Prince "fans" not moving with the times , the man's 52+ he's making quality albums and his stage show and all over musicianship is second to none for a man his age or even half his age......

Until you can walk the walk ....... don't talk the talk ...... Prince is cool ....you're not ....simple!

Well some of us(ALOT) are enjoying what he is doing right now. If you aren't, then GO AWAY!!! Don't let the door split you!! HE is having alot of fun and so are his fans. I get so tired of crabby people with these ridiculous threads. If you want to remember him for what he was in the 80s, then go watch videos from the 80s and leave the rest of us happy in this amazing light he is shining on the world right now. Prince is a better performer now than he was before. HE is showing real talent. And just b/c some fans have been up his butt for 30yrs and seen all the concerts, doesn't mean shit! HE is rocking them and that's all that counts. If you don't like the setlist, then don't watch the shows. That simple. I'm starting to think some of these miserable people start these type of threads just to be trolls and get some attention. Ok, you got your 15mins, now go away. Prince is ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

trolling for trolling's sake!

As my name implies I too enjoy P's 80's period. I'm still here with him now. Reason: musicianship. Period. Live he cannot be touched. Every time I watch the Africa Channel 'cool' live video I raise a smile and gasp at his sheer energy and talent. In fcat, I'd agree - he's actually improved - vocally and as a musician.

If ppl don't dig him now - move on. Life is fluid, why would P be any different..

My god methinks the orgers doth protest too much, you know its true, as for recent albums being quality are you having a laugh 20Ten, Planet Earth, 3121 you might get half a quality album from all three. You'll be telling me Under The Cherry Moon is a ggod example of film noir next

As for Stratus, if you want to see someone do something innovative with that track go see Massive Attack and see what they turned it into.

Prince doesn't have to retire for you to remember him in any particular way. You just have to snatch your balls back from Prince and go on your own way. You're the one choosing to hang around Prince not the other way around. So maybe it's time for you to man up and move on!

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Nonsence. Prince is at the top of his form. There is no live act today anywhere near his ability. The fact that he is 52 years old only makes the fact even more amazing.

He's an old man now and way past his peak.... He can't even sing anymore, just look at his performance of "The Beautiful Ones" at Lopez - horrible!

Have you ever seen David Bowie live? He kills the litttle man on stage...

I think Bowie has maybe retired, at least from live gigs. He may not be in full health these days, he had issues wuth his heart 4 or 5 yrs ago. I'm very glad I saw him play his last "Reality" tour and got v lucky that i had front row, center seats biggrin

I love Bowie, and I never saw him live(too young..) but I have seen Reality tour on dvd, but I think you can't compare Bowie to Prince, two different performers.

I have seen Bowie on stage...so no..he doesn't kill "the little man" on stage...as a matter of fact...I went to see Bowie (took my niece who went to see NIN) and we both ended up liking NIN performance better than Bowie's....uncomparable to Prince.

And yes, Prince can still sing ....can still hit the notes...can still move his @ss better than most in all areas...move on.
