Aaahh, those r some lucky ppl n the Carolinas! I also grew up in Columbia & was born right outside of Charlotte. I'm flying out there in mid April to celebrate my Bday. Can't believe I'm missing him by 2 weeks. O well, I'm sure he'll return to LV eventually:-D

Ya know i am not complaining here at all but, we all know Prince hasnt had a radio hit in many many years. I am quite surprised that he is playing the three major cities in NC. Raleigh is only an hour and half from Greensboro and Greensboro to Charlotte is less than 2 hours. It will be interesting to see how many people show up at the various sites. If he had chosen only 1 site in NC then it would have been a sellout. With three sites not far apart I am predicting less that 10K per site which is going to look mighty empty since Greensboro holds close to 23K, Raleigh close to 20K and Charlotte approx 19K.

Sorry, I'm about to go off:
WTF is the deal with all this back and forth from coast to coast bullshit? All the concerts so far has been either on the east coast or west coast. Why the fuck are you gonna drag all the equipment, the stage, etc from coast to coast, yet ignore all the states in between?

Settle Down Beavis. I'm the first one to agree with you that the tour makes no sense. This is Prince we are dealing with. I can make a list of a few things he has done that make this tour logical in his Bizzaro world.
1. He let Tony M in the band 2. He let Tony M in the band 3. He let Tony M in the band 4. He fumbled and bumbled the Crystal Ball Thing, and 14 years later, some fans are still waiting 5. He charges $77 for an extra small T-Shirt, and dumb website access 6. He put 77 tracks on 20Ten....very possibly to make fun of his very own fans, just to make light of the $77 they had to spend during a recession. 7. He let Tony M in the band 8. He thought Graffiti Bridge would become a classic years later, and have the same path that The Wizard of Oz had. He actually said this around 91 or 92, when everybody who had seen it pretended that it didn't happen. 9. He leaves songs like the original version of "Old Friends 4 Sale," in the Vault, while he releases songs like "Wedding Feast," "Jughead," etc 10. He let Tony M in the band
Much worse than the back and forth coast thing, is that in this economy, he is giving such short notice for shows, and putting many of them on sale at the exact same time, when he should know fans travel around, and will go to multiple shows. I can't tell you how many posts I have read from people who want to go to all 6 shows...but we are mostly all older adults now with jobs, family, and responsibility. Prince doesn't show much responsibility in the true business sense, doesn't seem to spend any time with his actual family, and his job...well..that's opinion

I'll be at the March 23rd Raleigh show! I'm excited and can't wait! It will be my 1st Prrince concert. I'm coming all the way down from Indiana on an 18 hour Greyhound bus trip. My aunt lives down there in Durham, NC so I'm so happy no more costs such as hotel, food, cab fees!!!
My seats are Section 105, Row P, Seat 2 (lower level seating)
I plan on wearing white and purple with silver and purple jewelry
I've heard a lot about the southern food and I'm wondering what good spots to eat at, record shops to shop in for vinyl, and music spots to hit up. Let me know! Who is worse? The original complianer or the people who complain about the complainers?
Maybe the answer is both, maybe neither. Some people are just the way you are, and should be accepted.
I for one, complain when I feel it is necessary. I find it healthy to complain once in awhile. I think those who complain about everything all the time are a little miserable to be around, and find those who never complain to have a different sort of empty life. So I try to be in between, whenever possible. I tend to just go with my true feelings on each individual matter.

The rest of that first bold sentence is: "...on every thread about the Carolina concerts, about the same thing." You have been whining and complaining on every Carolina thread about the short notice. If you can't go, okay. Next time maybe Prince will call you and check your calendar first.
And I actually wasn't complaining and about your complaining. I was laughing at it, this the

Hmm, not sure who is worse. Seeing as we were simply "laughing" at the complaining and not "complaining" about the complaining...I dunno. Ah, tough riddle. -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude!

Greetings all.
I've lurked for a while but decided to post finally.
I live in Columbia and will be going to the show here and in Charlotte. I would love to meet up with others who will be attending the show in Charlotte either before or after the concert. Message me on here.
I saw Prince the opening night of the W2A tour at the Meadowlands complex (I just can't call it the IZOD Center, it doesn't sound right to me) with my brother and his girlfriend. I drove 14 hours to see the concert and although I got caught in a snowstorm on my way back down 95, it was totally worth it.

I got tickets for the Greenville SC show. Seat location: section 225, row H, seats 13-14. Not the best but the best I could afford right now so its all good. Anyone know if there is going to be a after show?

Well, damn!!
I'll blame the time change. I've blamed it with everything else this week.

I have tickets to the show in Greensboro, my hometown. My brother-in-law actually sprung for the VIP seats. With the shows on the west coast, did he play a pretty standard set list?

Well, if you read EVERY post, you would see that I am going to all six shows. I'm complaining, due to the ridiculous pricing that has led to none of the six selling out. Unless you count all the under $50 tickets going fast. It will be a funny show with empty spaces up front, and a few thousand in the top of the arena. But it will be those fans who get the last laugh on me. While I spent everything I could, some of them will be pulled up right behind me for half the cost.
Maybe I have complained too much, but I have a lot of knowledge about the music business, and you can to go every other major artist at pollstar.com and you will see 30 or more carefully planned out dates on nearly every major star that is on tour. They put the tickets on sale at least 30 days to even a year and advance, and they make tons of money that way.
