Am I the only person who never heard of Anthony Hamilton?

According to this, NC gets Chaka Kahn and SC gets Lalah Hathaway. As an SC-goer, not exactly thrilled about that.
Actually, Columbia gets Mint Condition. Who the F is that?
Mint Condition are perhaps one of the best live bands you'll ever see...imo. They came up in the same region as Prince and were heavily influenced by that whole "band" scene. They never acheived superstar Platinum success...though they did have some hits in the 90's and a Gold record.
I saw them live in Myrtle Beach 2008 while they were touring in support of their last studio CD and COULD NOT believe what I was witnessing...they were soooo good, tight and entertaining. It helps if you are a fan and are familiar with their material.
I'm extremely happy to be seeing both Prince and Mint on the same stage, as I'm way more than a casual fan of both artists. I would have been fine with Chaka, Anthony or Lalah....but, seeing Prince and Mint Condition on the same bill is what I've been hoping for as long as I can remember.
Nope.. there are actually plenty of VIP seating left for Greensboro show and Raleigh shows!! im thinking the VIP section will be pretty slim unless people buy the tickets at the last minute or the radio shows give them away? i dunno who gets these VIP leftover tickets?

Chaka is a legend. Anthony Hamilton is good dirty southern soul. Mint Condition have got new music that sounds good. Lalah Hathaway is boring. Her dad's a legend, but from what I've heard, her music is like the worst kind of bland "grown-folks" R&B. I hope she starts right at 7:30, has 20 minutes on stage and Prince is on by 8:15, cause I'm guessing the BILO center cutoff is probably 11:00.

Mint Condition is AWESOME! Saw them live at the Nokia Theatre here in NY and at the Prince Concert in December. I'm waiting for them to come through my town again. Talk about a band that is super tight!!! Enjoy!
Great that he appeared on the broadcasted Al Green Tribute (coming on stage after Jill Scott)
and notice the late Teena Marie making a standing ovation during his performance.

I have my two vip seats... table 1, seats 1,2. Can't wait to go...
I am taking my sister as a birthday gift. If any of you are going to the N. Charleston concert on the 30th or March, I'll be sitting in seat number one at the vip table one. I'll have a walking cane... but I'll be getting funky!

I'm going to the N Charleston concert but will be up top. I'll try to sneak down and say hello.
question about the vip tables/seats: can anyone tell me if the seats are comfortable? this is the first time I've been in the vip section, and I have two herniated discs but would not miss this show since it could be the last time I see him live again. Thanks
WHAT!!!!! Columbia gets Mint Condition and Greenville gets Lalah Hathaway! I wish I had bought Columbia tickets now. I love Mint Condition. One of the best BANDS in the last few decades. Could care less about Lalah Hathaway.

Jermaine Depree discovered him.......He has a deep soulful voice reminiscent of Donnie Hathaway...Look him up U may like him...
was not discovered by Jermaine Dupri, Andre Harrell discovered him and his project was never released on Uptown Records, He was first introduced to mainstream audiences with his singing of the chorus on Nappy Roots' 2002 "Po' Folks,"
Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Yes that song was a break out 4 him, it got Hamilton in touch with Jermaine Dupri.
Dupri signed Hamilton to So So Def and released Comin' From Where I'm From in 2003. The album's title track reached #60 on the R&B charts, and "Charlene," Hamilton's biggest hit, reached #19 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the R&B charts. So actually Dupre is the one that brought his solo career to the forefront........
So I credit Dupre 4 discovering him 4 his solo career which had went nowhere before that.
