Karaoke Screens

Anybody else notice those few monitors off the side of the stage with the lyrics of the songs on them? I saw the screens at the show, but was too far away to read what they said. In a couple of the recent posts, you can actually see song lyrics on them. I suppose it's possibe that he's got so many songs that he might occasionally need to be reminded of the words.

Or could it be more for the band?

I think it's just a bit of a safety net. He does not seem to be paying any attention to them, but I can tell you that singers forget songs they've sung a million times because they're thinking about the performance and mind wanders a little.

That's standard protocol for pretty much any arena show to have prompters on the stage. Doesn't mean they get used.

it's because it's not the real prince onstage anymore. it's an imposter lookalike who doesn't know princes songs, thus all the cover versions and letting other people sing. he needs the words on screen as he doesn't know them

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

I think at the o2 shows in 2007 he had a woman running around changing the pages to his lyric book...must have been a hard job especially when Elton John forgets the words to Long and Winding Road *snigger*
