One question: Where is Rhonda?
That chick whoever she is, is not as funky as Rhonda.
That's like Michael B playing with Rhonda vs. Sonny T.
Sonny T is a monster. |

i'm gonna keep this short and simple cause its already been said in some others posts ..good show energy wise but the setlist needs a major uhaul. perhaps it was the jaw dropping anctics of the 1/18 show that cried 2 be met again but fell short. tho this show was better than the december shows, 1/18 IS THE BEST SHOW OF THEM ALL.
highlights: laydown, MOUNTAINS, dreamer
letdowns- okay prince u have a band is there really a need 2 do looped snipets? seriously! ..kim kardashian ..nice ass but get yo ass off the stage!!
MAJOR LETDOWN- NOT DOING THE LOVE WE MAKE!! DAMMIT I WANNA HEAR THIS SONG LIVE IN PERSON SHIT!!
food 4 thought- in talking with anhonestman after the show we both realize that these shows are 4 the casual people cause when prince did laydown, dreamer and mountains, once again people around us were dumbfucked as 2 what these songs are. but what's refreshing is seeing other fans that are in the know all rock out!!
msg is a busy arena year round with other acts coming 2 the garden soon, and not 2 mention the sporting events that happen there so it would be great if prince came back to the nyc at another venue perhaps even more intimate 4 the diehards and those in the know that he has more of a vast catalouge then 3 albums in the 80's.
Well I agree "Laydown" made my skin crawl I'm a diehard and b/c i can't get 20ten i neva heard it but i was watching tha crowd and when he was raising tha roof I thought the entire arena was doing it but u probably talking bout tha casual fans that if they don't know tha song and tha words they lost.

Saw a small clip of this concert online today.
He was singing "... slow down ..." and bathed in red, what is the name of the track?
It sounds divine! |

So do you think no one should have been drinking alcohol? People have been smoking weed at concerts since the 60's. To each their own. A Prince show is a party ya know!
I've never under stood why you would wanna be wasted or high during a concert?? I knew people who went to some of the shows in 93 and they were so drunk the next day
they could barely remember the show at all? Whats the point in going to the concert? Its SOOOO sad when people have to have drugs/ booze to have fun.
I mean hell.. its nice to have a few drinks now and then, get a bit buzzed.. but NOT at a concert you
pay $100 or more too see and won't even remember.. WOW.
We were partying and we can remember every song. To each their own. We had a blast at all 4 shows we attended. It's SOOOO sad when people pay big $ and go see Prince and sit there like a bump on a log! Most of our section were sitting down during the encore. Why bother showing up? |

(Bolded part) What in the frigging..?? Lawd have mercy. Now see L4, that's probably why you couldn't get Prince to play "The Love We Make" because all that yelling and demanding in all caps like somebody stole your extra bag of Skittles. Don't you know you have to know how to ask for what you want in order to get it? You mean all the Skittles you ate couldn't bring out the sweetness in you?
Now just for that, if Prince actually does some LA shows, and decides to sing "The Love We Make" and you may not make it to any LA shows to witness that, I'd sure hate to see how you would carry on here.

What's really f-d up is that I was reading the MSN.com homepage yesterday and Howard Stern had the audacity to call Princa a scumbag for kicking this fake bitch off the stage. Uh, he asked her to do the 'bump' that simple If he had asked her to do a split then go into the salsa followed by the Viannese Waltz I would agree with Howard's statement but it was the bump. Seriously, only someone with a brain the size of a peanut doesn't know how to do the bump. It's the easiest dance on the planet and Ms. Paula did it before her so she had an example to follow. I would have done the bump and belly danced for the man if he had invited me up there . Can't believe Howard would say such nonsense like that and it's funny hearing a real scumbag call someone else a scumbag Yeah, I guess Prince is a scumbag for donating $1.5 million to charity even though he kicked some over-exposed media whore off his stage for not dancing. Chick was taking up space in her fugly dress so she should have been dismissed...he was nice to let her come back up after that and she still didn't do much. Kim K...FAIL! Prince Rogers Nelson

BTW the ushers even when they tried to act tough and not letting people to take pictures, at the end they were very nice and cool people. Very friendly nice guys and ladies who worked over there.
I also brought with me 2 cameras that night, just in case if they would take one away from me. |

Well my ushers in my Section were VERY TOUGH but only for the gold outfit period...There were many of them...After that initial group swtiched posts, the other ushers were absolutely fine..
I even saw one of the ushers go to a man who had binoculars to take them away thinking it was a camera...

These people are just doing their jobs. Nobody at MSG gives a shit about cameras - this comes STRAIGHT from Prince as I'm sure you all know. You saw the signs when we walked in right? They never care about pics at MSG but Prince is very strict about this. If Prince sees people taking pics, he's going to bitch about it to managment, and shit runs downhill and these employees will have to hear it.
Personally I don't see the big deal...I like to snap a few pics but I can't understand spending the show taking hundreds of pictures like many do, especially when there are pros doing a better job with better equipment than we will. But it's like anything else - be discreet and you'll be ok.
I'm sure the ushers don't approve of pot smoking but as long as you aren't in their face with it it's ok - they have a job to do and it's their house (most MSG workers are lifers) and discretion is part
of showing them proper respect. [Edited 2/11/11 7:17am] |

At the 12/17 show it was 8 minutes 43 seconds long.
That's one of the things I liked so much about that show, we got to hear extended versions of many songs. I prefer that instead of Prince playing medleys or just 1-2 verses of songs. "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself." |

I'm still on a Purple High from the show Monday. It was such a great show from start to finish. There is nothing more for me to add that hasn't been said but I just wish Prince would stay in NYC and perform here once or twice a month! It was great times and I'm so thankful to have seen the greatest artist of all time so many times in 2 months!
PRINCE 4EVER!!!!!!!!! [Edited 2/11/11 22:10pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that |
