Anyone notice that during Cee Lo's set, the teleprompters read, "NO F WORD"?

A stage hand even got up and told him, "No F word."

All I wanna know is, how big is the stick up Prince's ass for him to do this to fellow musicians? I'm just glad the audience yelled out a few big "FUCK YOU's" when he called on them.

Great show Prince, but FUCK YOU! wink

During the press conference when Prince announced this tour he said that it was for everyone and to bring your kids. So him wanting to keep the content clean of expletives isn't having a stick up his ass in telling Cee-lo to keep the song clean. I didn't have my son at this show, but I for one like that Prince wanted to make his music accessible to all ages, it's just a shame that such jaded, self-centered individuals (those mad because the song had to be kept clean and those that felt the need to smoke weed) can't grow-up and respect what he was trying to do.

I said the same thing to a girl sitting next to me when we were talking about Cee Lo before he came out.

You've hit it totally on the head for all of the highlights. The few things I would add are:

PRINCE WORE HEELS MOST OF THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!

DANCING: Prince danced more last night that I can recall and his hip gyrations and booty bumps :booty:left many a ladies hot and bothered (and I am definitely one of them) horny

lol I had a wonderful time last light! Prince was energetic, funny at times, Funky, soulful and I'm just happy I heard "Laydown" and "Dreamer" live! Another highlight for me was "Mountains" and "I would Die 4 U". The shout out to Bobby Z was cool, especially when Prince acknowledged that along with Bobby Z many people have helped him during his career. Overall, I was totally satisfied and I'm just happy Prince is still healthy and alive. We've lost soooo many legends, so to have the opportunity to witness his artistry live is a blessing!

The setlist was mostly hits again, true, but that meant the crowd was more into the songs. Jan. 18th had a better setlist, but that crowd was weak. Tonight there was lots of energy all around. Prince really put his all into tonight's show. I nearly died when he opened the third encore with "Mountains".

Who was the harmonica player?

YES! Mountains sealed it 4 me! I was not expecting it! ahhh

I'm still on a Purple High! Prince's energy was very high! I loved every minute! Frederic Yonnet-harmonica player.

Hi o( > orgers, this is my 1st post! Great to be reading others' posts that "needed" to go to multiple shows, they made my year! This was my 3rd one, I went to the 2 Izod concerts as well (had floor seats). Divine Intervention gave me great seats for all 3 concerts. Last night I had such a great loge seat on the piano side, could see everything, incl. The Beautiful Ones performance alot closer. I loved Mountains, Pop Life and IWD4U. No chance of him going past 11. I was hoping he'd play Endorphinmachine, but those lucky enough to attend the aftershow at 2 AM got to hear that. I had a great time, he moved around alot so that all could see him & played several songs at my side of the stage (Beautiful Ones/ Cream/ IF I was your GF/ Insatiable/ piano Medley).

Being in the section near the purple piano, I loved the little snippets he played, u never knew what he was gonna come out with. That "piano" was funky, must've really been some kind of synthesizer or specially made instrument. He had tracks preprogrammed into it it seemed. I actually was worried if he was ok at one point- he pretended he was lightheaded or groggy right before he played WDC snippet, what a sense of humor. I loved how he got the audience to participate while he danced on the piano. I wish I had him as my workout instructor (Let's Work!). Cee-lo was a good opener choice and Shelby had great chemistry with Prince.

Prince, don't wait another 6 yrs to comeback, NYC/NJ loves U! lol

PS- Someone said Brad & Angelina were there!? They're the Beautiful Ones....

Have u had your + sign today?

the laydown opening... Ripping the stage in that gold sequin outfit... I have no words, it was fucking awesome. Mountains??? OMG its like he knew my hearts one wish for this show. Him doing mountains was an amazing amazing surprise, like him doing anotherloverholenyohead at the jan 18 show. I died and went to heaven. Him blending that into MJ "shake your body down" was genius and it shocked the shit out of me. Brilliant!!! I was also tickled by him kicking kim k off the stage and then making that jab during "welcome 2 america". Great comic relief. He reeeallly seemed to be having a ball on stage, and I was happy to see that after that BS in Dallas... Oh, and yall not convincing me misty is not his boo. Nope, no maam/ sir. Please, don't stop these shows!

For those of us who weren't there, can you explain what you're talking about?

He brought her on stage then promptly kicked her off for being stiff and wack. As he escorted her off the stage he said "welcome to america". Then later he went into the song and said "welcome to america, where you can be famous for doing absolutely nothing!!!". It was extremely pointed.

woot!" woot! dancing jig Party over here! Last night's show was amazing and full of energy. Prince said he loves NYC and assured us he would not be gone too long and will return soon, because he loves NY! woot!

I was so happy he opened the show with "LayDown" because that set off the energy for the entire night. MSG was pumping. Everywhere I looked in the arena, people was standing and dancing the whole night. The vibe from the audience members who attended was right on time, energetic and awesome.

Prince was shimmering in gold like the Prince that he is, and had the place on blast all night long. Late last year in October when he announced the concert series, and told people to bring foot spray, he should have told them to bring a foot massager as well, because after all that energy he brought to MSG last night, your feet had to hurt from the all-night dancing and the energy he projected.

It was cute and funny when the lady before Kim Kardashian came up, and he asked if she knew how to do the "bump" and then they both did the bump together;after that he said to her "Get off the stage, you're too sexy!". Hilarious.

I loved the slow-down version of "Little Red Corvette", and wish it could be released in the future on a cd, if he decides to put together a live cd version from some of these shows. He graced us with "Insatiable, Scandalous and Adore" and it was a major love fest. Prince and Misty Copeland also graced with us a choregraphed version of "The Beautiful Ones." Another highlight was Prince's dedication to BobbyZ when he and Shelby sang "Nothing Compares 2 U". Love the duet between those two and of course, as always, it was a pleasure to hear Shelby's voice in that song.

He also sang "Dreamer, Welcome2America, Poplife, some lyrics from Sign of the Times", and more. The short piano medley (as others mentioned here) were fun as he teased us with offering to play some of those songs.

I have to say I appreciated Cee Lo's performance last night and his voice is amazing. Love his style of music, and there was a slow side he sang that had a bluesy feel to it, that I loved. When Cee Lo sang "Forget You" my row got up and we sang and danced through the whole song. Prince and Ceelo did a great job performing "Crazy" together. Props to Elisa for the way she sang "Shake Your Body". She did a very good job, vocally and I thought it was cute and funny when Liv was chasing her on the stage, when Elisa playfully ran to the other side singing. I have to say all 3 of Prince's backup singers are fantastic and they harmonize beautifully, as always.

What a show, loved the whole concept of the W2A concert series, with Prince getting involved with his support for education and the arts, and donating a portion of the funds to 3 organizations who deserved it.

I also have to say it was fantastic and so appreciated, having Prince in New York City through these winter months, and so happy to know he enjoyed this city, performing here, and promising to return soon.

I attended the 12/18, 12/29 and 2/7 shows at MSG and by far 2/7 was the most energetic, and I loved that the audience was on fire the entire night. The demand for the encore was deafening and people stomped and cheered until he came out, and he did not let us down. All I have to say is Thanks Prince and the NPG band for gracing NYC with your presence. Don't wait too long to return!

One part that was hilarious and I thought was cute, was when Prince was singing near the last encore, and when you looked up on the jumbo screen, someone in the audience held up their laptop, waving it back and forth, with this pic of Prince glowing on their laptop, and you saw the image moving back and forth on all the jumbo screens:

Lawd have mercy, when they showed Kim walking up the steps to the stage, Kim's entire ass took up the space on the jumbo screens.lol It was a funny moment when she just stood there in shock, while Prince waited for her to dance, then told her jokingly to "Get off the stage!". Hilarious. She made up for the dance moment when she came back on stage with her boyfriend and other celebrities to dance.

i'm gonna keep this short and simple cause its already been said in some others posts ..good show energy wise but the setlist needs a major uhaul. perhaps it was the jaw dropping anctics of the 1/18 show that cried 2 be met again but fell short. tho this show was better than the december shows, 1/18 IS THE BEST SHOW OF THEM ALL.

highlights: laydown, MOUNTAINS, dreamer

letdowns- okay prince u have a band is there really a need 2 do looped snipets? seriously! ..kim kardashian ..nice ass but get yo ass off the stage!!

MAJOR LETDOWN- NOT DOING THE LOVE WE MAKE!! DAMMIT I WANNA HEAR THIS SONG LIVE IN PERSON SHIT!!

food 4 thought- in talking with anhonestman after the show we both realize that these shows are 4 the casual people cause when prince did laydown, dreamer and mountains, once again people around us were dumbfucked as 2 what these songs are. but what's refreshing is seeing other fans that are in the know all rock out!!

msg is a busy arena year round with other acts coming 2 the garden soon, and not 2 mention the sporting events that happen there so it would be great if prince came back to the nyc at another venue perhaps even more intimate 4 the diehards and those in the know that he has more of a vast catalouge then 3 albums in the 80's.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I 100% agree with you. There were people from all age groups there and it is always great to see the younger fans at these shows enjoying it with the older fans, and seeing the fantastic musician/performer Prince is. I was sitting in back of this mother and daughter duo, and they both had a great time dancing and singing along all night. I agree that some idiots need to leave the weed smoking out of the arena, and grow the heck up. Cee Lo did a great job not singing the curse version, and everyone was enjoying themselves singing along with him. I also have to say that he has a great band. I really enjoyed the entire show. The show altogether was awesome and very energetic.

Do you actually think Cee Lo gave a fuck that he was asked to not use the word, especially when having the honor of opening for PRINCE? If he didn't agree to it, or like it, he didn't have to agree to perform. PRINCE has said time after time that his concerts are now family-friendly shows. If you don't like it, don't go, loser.

And why am I not surprised that this ignorant comment is coming from the same ignorant moron who posted this thread last year? "Why does Prince need all them [snip - CarrieMpls] on stage with him?"

Typical bitchy org a-hole. rolleyes

Cee Lo was clearly annoyed slightly. He's being forced to censor his music.

And that's right, I don't wanna see them bitches on stage and Kardashian IS a [snip - CarrieMpls]

You don't have to be a "diehard" to know and appreciate and enjoy alot of Prince's music post late 80's or early 90's! Alot of people, support Prince that have never even heard of this website or Housequake and are hard core Prince fans or just regular Prince fans from around my neck of the woods.
