It's obvious he's not dancing like he used to just for the sheer fact that he doesn't or can't do the splits anymore so the dancing isn't going to be the same. Plus and HE'S 52 YEARS OLD. Can you really see him humping a bed NOW? Or doing some of the wild dances he did at 22 or 32? That would be some shit! As for how his dancing TODAY, he dances REAL GOOD for someone his age and for someone who's had hip surgery. Give credit where credit is due. He's still doing the damn thing.

That's true. I go to a concert to hear him play. If he dances, good, if not, no biggie. He interacts with the audience in between and during every song. There are a lot of concerts I've seen where the guy just stands there, and plays the same setlist he's played at the last 20 concerts, and played the songs note-for-note like the album. Then in between the 5th and 6th song, they'll yell, "How you doing, UHH, {looks down at notes} PHOENIX!" Prince does the complete opposite. Dancing or no dancing, the guy can hold an arena-full of people in the palm of his hand. |

I see it exactly the same way! The fact that Prince danced a lot at the 2010 concerts was a treat, not something I expected. And it was a joy to watch because I simply love how he moves! And I love how he interacts with the audience all the time - that really is a big difference to a lot of other performers!!! He is really trying - and succeeding - to build a connection, for example, when he says things like "I can feel u, can u feel me?" |
