Another great show. Hard to compare to the 17th. There is a certain mystique to MSG and to see it packed and rocking was special. Having said that my first impressions after just leaving was the energy in the first half of the show was off the wall, even better than yesterday, however, it seemed to go down the second half to me, although I may be wrong. I would like to see how others feel. I didn't really like the version of Purple Rain tonight as well as last night. I think he may have been a little tired out by the end after two nights in a row---I know I was! In any case, I think if he had returned to do the second encore like last night, it would have put this one over the top. I think that made last night really special and left a feeling that it was a little bit lacking for those of us who were there both nights. In the end it seems he really was into it last night to come back out and do that extra set.

Anyway, it was great to see the three shows and I am kind of glad the fourth was cancelled and moved to a month from now. That will give us a chance for all these concerts to sink in time for us to recharge before doing it one more time (or hopefully more). Sorry I won't be at the 29th, a pre-planned Christmas break trip I can't get out of! Nice mix of songs. Interestingly enough, in the new tour book it also mentions DMSR, Do me Baby, Nasty Girl, Screams of Passion, Forever in my Life and Free as part of the set list for these shows. None of them have been done yet. It also lists just the MSG shows and IZOD shows on the back page of the tour book. I wonder if this is it? It seems kind of strange to make a tour book for five shows (and it wasn't even out for the first two), but who knows? One other observation, no high heels tonight, back to the flats.

Sheila E was fantastic. The highlight of the show, in my opinion.

I was on the floor. The sound was a little muddy.

Overall I prefered the Musicology show.

And as others have mentioned.. what the heck? If you are at a VIP table you can't see anything!

The folks who danced on the floor by the tip of the arrow were another highlight of the evening. Thanks if you were one of them.

The 11pm curfew at Madison Square Garden was adhered to.

yea, and Prince probably got tired of waiting for all of them to get their a**** off the stage and left. That's probably why there was no second encore. They took forever to get off the stage once the music stopped. He was probably already eating dinner at some restaurant by the time they got off the stage.

I did not hear or see Kanye West (although he may have been there--I may have missed his name being mentioned). However, Alicia Keys was up there, as well as Spike Lee, Cornell West, Tavis Smiley, and the others that were mentioned. I think that Bria Valente stepped on stage, if I'm not mistaken, and Sherri Shepherd was also up there. When Prince invited Sherri to come on stage, he said something like (I'm paraphrasing) "Let's see what Sherri really wants to do!" I think it may have been in response to Sherri's spontaneous comment when Prince was on The View recently, when she said "You don't understand Prince, I have wanted to make love to you for my whole life!" smile It was pretty cute.

I did not see the show on the 17th, and so unfortunately, I cannot compare it to tonight's show. However, tonight was great--Prince gave a great performance, and Graham Central Station was good.

She was stunning in the dress. Absolutely breath-taking. The stupid camera man for the video screens was showing Prince when he was standing by her drums. I was thinking "hey, he's on the whole show... show HER, show HER!".

Sadly she put on black pants for the 2nd song she was out for at the end. Did not look as good as the dress.

Bad quality photo here... but the caption is exactly what was going through my mind. She truly was stunning.

TOMEEBOY

Quick points to note.......show opened with a new song called Welcome 2 America. He then entered into Baby I'M a Star....the rest of the show was a mix and match of the two previous setlists. In no particular order...Let's Go Crazy, 1999, Delerious The Beautiful Ones, SHHHH, Raspberry Beret, Cream , Uptown, Let's Work, Cool, Purple Rain, Nothing Compares 2 U, Sheila E for Glamorous Life, U Got the Look and A Love Bizarre. Kiss encore.

Show was OK and seemed very rushed....when we get the aftershow report that will explain it all!!!!

kanye west was there.

it was a fantastic concert. i will say that i liked the musicology tour better and thats because of the horns and mike scott on guitars. i am so thrilled that john blackwell is back. being a drummer or once was until i gotbadly hurt in a car accident in 2006 it made me so happy to see john playing.

i loved the show tonight so please don't get me wrong, but i missed rhonda, chance, candi, maceo, greg and mike.

i know that prince was going back to his roots with the horns coming through the keys in what he created as the minnesota sound. still i missed those amazing talents.

either way i am going the 29th and i'm gonna try and get tix for january 18th. i love the mans music. it is a must see tour!!!
