Prince damages Gelredome Arnhem (possibly?)

(from http://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/10...-los.dhtml, "Algemeen Dagblad", dutch news paper)

(loosly translated)

Screws roof Gelredome shake loose.

ROTTERDAM - The screws which hold the roof of the Gelredome in Arnhem in place, slowly shake loose. This conclusion is made after a service inspection, tells manager Jasper van Amstel in [this newspaper].

By opening and closing the roof the bolts come loose at a certain moment. This is not foreseen at the construction of the pop temple. To safeguard security, the maintanence schedule is altered.

*****

Personal notes: This has been discovered no less than 4 days after the Prince concert. Coincidence or not? biggrin It does give a new dimension to the often heard saying that Prince rocks the roof of joints. Also nice to hear that loose bolts were "not forseen". Would have made one shitty intentional addition to the build... wink

Obviously the facility has to be made safe and secure for other acts who perform there.

He cannot be blamed for loose screws.

Don't worry... No mention of sending Prince the bill. razz This is just informative and a cool coincidence (and, yes... an elaborate effort to make a "rockin' the roof off" joke).

Slowly shake loose?

If it happened suddenly, it would make sense to blame Prince for it wink

It's obviously something that happened over a long period of time.

Although it would have been cool if Prince caused the damage cool

I recall that 'Rammstein' performed there earlier this year.

My guess is that those screws couldn't stand the 'heavy metal' anymore ( how ironic lol )
