^Thanks, I'll add that link to the sticky thread in this forum, that provides travel info. I hope you are aware that LaGuardia Airport is located in Queens, NY right? It is quite a distance from Manhattan in NYC, and definitely far in distance from New Jersey.
If you were planning on attending the IZOD show, it would have been more convenient to fly into Newark Airport in New Jersey, because flying into LaGuardia, you will still have to shell out money to get to Jersey, especially if you're not renting a car to drive to Jersey, from LaGuardia airport.
If you plan on staying in a hotel in Manhattan, you may want to check the shuttle services at LaGuardia airport, to make arrangements for transportation to drop you off at your hotel in Manhattan, from LaGuardia airport, before leaving home. Here some info on shuttle services: Super Shuttle: Available 24 hours a day, this shuttle provides door to door service for your party. Fares are $15 - $19, depending on destination. No reservations are required to get from the airport to your destination, but they are required for your return trip to the airport. Consult their website or call 1-800-258-3826 for more information. service takes you to your hotel destination.
New York Airport Service Express Bus: Available from 6:30 a.m. - 11:10 p.m., these shuttles leave every 15-30 minutes. Fare is $13 ($15 if you want to be dropped off at your midtown hotel), but you can save by buying roundtrip tickets online, as they are $22 (you can also buy discounted one way tickets online). One free child under $12 is included in the fare. You can choose to disembark at Grand Central, Port Authority or Penn Station, in addition to hotels between 31st Street and 60th Street. The ride takes about an hour. Return schedules and more information are available on their website.
To get the IZOD center, you can go to the Port Authority in Manhattan NYC, and take the coach 351 bus: See info below:
Address to NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal:

Hope this info helps. [Edited 11/19/10 17:58pm]

You did really good! I thought I was doing well with $300 round trip per person from the West Coast! Did I miss out?! I thought you had to lock down the good deals early! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

That is true! I changed my flight plans from La Guardia to the Newark airport and flights and shuttles were much cheaper than from LaGuardia to NJ. Thanks again, 2elijah! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

No problem, it's just that it makes sense to fly into Newark for the IZOD shows, instead of LaGuardia and especially JFK, because LGA and JFK is nowhere close to Jersey. It's also best to fly into LGA, for the MSG shows, instead of JFK< because it's less expensive/ and closer to Manhattan. You will still need transportation to get into Manhattan from there. Some international flights only come into JFK, so that would be the only exception for some people travelling from abroad and attending the MSG shows. Either way, they still have an option to take shuttle service to Manhattan from there, once they land. [Edited 11/19/10 18:09pm]

But, as you pointed out, the Newark airport has a shuttle which is $15 which drops you off at your hotel, much cheaper than the $80-$100 fees I was quoted when I called local companies like Supershuttle and taxi cabs for LaGuardia. That, alone, made me want to switch. Not only that but I was also able to find flights that had no stops as they did at JFK or LaGuardia. So, I am totally convinced that Newark airport is the way to go. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

That's right, I forgot about the M60 bus. Here's some info on it;so once at 125th street, she can get on the #4 train and take that to 42nd street and grand central terminal, and she'll be in midtown Manhattan.

LaGuardia is actually not that far - only 20 miles from Izod Center - about a 45 minute car drive in traffic? vs. 14 miles and a 25 minute ride from Newark. I'm renting a car for $60. Not bad.
Also, there is no way I could have gotten a $135 airfare to newark, the cheapest I could find was close to $400.
So I am very happy I got such affordable transportation and can't wait to get there!

Glad you found affordable tickets, because this is around the blackout period when fares are kind of high. I did a random search on that site where you found inexpensive tix at http://www.airfarewatchdog.com . I checked flights from Minne to Newark, out of curiosity, and a round trip fare of $250.00 came up. I did another random search from LAX to Newark, and a fare of $258 round trip came up. Those prices are not bad at all. I guess it depends on what time of the day you search for discount tix on that site, is when you'll find the lowest fares. I did the search on that site, this evening around 10:30pm.
Also, how long it takes to drive from LaGuardia airport, in Queens, NY to New Jersey, pretty much depends on how holiday traffic will be. Remember, you're coming in during the holiday shopping season. [Edited 11/20/10 19:59pm]

Time of day really counts too. We are landing at noon Tuesday and will have plenty of time to drive to Jersey and to nap and get ready for the show at our hotel (which is one mile from Izod). With airfare and car rental, we are paying 165 each, which is way cheaper than anything else. Gonna walk or cab to show.
Then our flight on Wednesday is at about 4, which should be about perfect with checking out of the hotel, driving back into the city, and hanging out in the airport bar, reliving our experience of the night before - which is we're really lucky will include an aftershow?

Same here, except have to add an extra day for coming from the West Coast. But I am very happy with the airfare and hotel deals I got. I, too, can walk to the Izod (if it ain't snowing and sleeting BRRR!) "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Yes, this is true. You really got a good deal, and the sharing of expenses is a good idea. I live in NYC about 10 minutes from LaGuardia airport so I know how far you would have to travel to drive from LaGuardia airport to NJ.
That would be a good idea for others coming to the show, to pair up with someone else and rent a car, especially those that don't live too far out-of-state from NY/NJ. They could share the car rental/hotel/gas/parking expenses to either show. [Edited 11/22/10 6:45am]
