Herning got more than they bargained 4, when Prince's shirt broke wide open.... [Edited 10/22/10 14:21pm]

did the girls sing "free", "pearls b4 the swine" and "love thy will be done" again?
that's an interesting sequence and i'd like to see prince do it himself
only other thing that's interesting about this tour is him opening up with a ballad, a different ballad, every night. that's different. reminds me of opening montreux with "when eye lay my hands on u", which was otherworldly cool.
the rest of these shows, at least on paper, appears to be rather same ol same ol and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Paint by numbers, booring. Even the aftershows sound tame.

Well if you think it was boring, you should have been there. I'm just home from Herning and he gave it 100% again. Just the start with Empty Room & Stratus and then the shirt-thing. It's been a while since we saw him semi-naked
I was at all 4 concerts in Denmark in 2010 and this one was like Forum way better than Roskilde.
Highlights for me in Herning:
Starter - Empty Room Stratus Shhh - a long time favorite of mine Controversy - Sexy Dancer - Le Freak Uptown Cream Cool A Love Bizarre Peach
Damn, to many to mention.
Only thing I could do without is the 3 song medley by the girls. I'm just glad that it's now 3 prince songs instead of cover-songs...
Thank you Prince for another great night in Denmark!!!

Yeah, of course he won most over in the end, but a huge portion of the crowd outside of inner circle and lower front were incredibly lame during large portions of the show ; "the sit down, don't move a muscle kind". I wonder if half the tickets were give aways to locals, who cared nothing about Prince. The show was far from sold out either, so it just goes to show that they should've booked two mainshows in Copenhagen - where MANY people sadly missed tickets and the whole Forum was on fire - instead; big names belong in the capitol Anyways I personally had a blast, the opening with Empty Room was a long time dream come true, and I was dancing my ass off the rest of the evening, and since noone else around me was doing so, I had plenty of room to get funky I actually had a whole platform to myself, ha ha, was only joined a few times by two other women, when he played top 5 hits. Good God! [Edited 10/23/10 2:14am]

Absolutely amazing concert in Herning last night! And he opened with Empty Room!!! And if big names only belonged in the capital, plenty more people would have missed this amazing artist than actually did, including me...by the end of the evening the whole place was on fire and everyone was screaming for an encore....this was not a boring concert by any definition of the word.

^ I'm glad you got the chance to see Prince in concert. And it was a GREAT show, but for those of us attending both shows the different response in the audience was significant. Forum was on fire from the beginning to the end. But maybe we're just more easily impressed in Copenhagen

It's easy to see that only those who were NOT at any of the shows this year can say that it is boring. Everyone who has been there knows different!!

Absolutely agree. But as in many other cases, it's apparently a longer route to travel from Copenhagen to Jutland, than from Jutland to Copenhagen. Go figure.

Nope it was not far from sold out. Only some of the worst seats back in the arena wasn't sold... And please, if people in Copenhagen missed out the show in Forum, it's only a few hours drive to Herning on a friday night...

^ From where I was standing there was MANY empty seats. And probably a lot of giveways too I was there, so I obviously don't mind travelling to see an artist I like, whether it's in Jylland or abroad, but for whatever reason many people don't do that. I guess you could say it's their loss or that people from Hovedstadsområdet are spoiled because back in the day they didn't have to go as far to see favorite artists, as people from other parts of the country did and still haven't gotten around to it yet. But, that's just how it is.
But there was just an obvious cultural difference in audience reaction - apart from innercircle and lower front - that was "interesting" to see. I'm capable of having a good time whether or not people around me are, so I had a great evening, but of course it adds to a show when an entire room is on fire from start to finish as in Copenhagen. Like I said earlier maybe the audience there was just easier impressed

Sorry Virgo but that's just plain wrong. I went to CPH and Herning (as well as Roskilde and Lisbon ) and both the CPH and Herning were amazing. Don't know about the seats but the Inner Circle crowd was way better in Herning so my guess is that overall probably about the same. Saying that we are more easily impressed in CPH is just fool's talk. I bet 50% of the people in Herning were from CPH and at least 50% of the people in CPH were from Jutland.
We have no venue here in CPH for artist like Prince - let's face Forum is not exactly state of the art is it. The sound was much better in Herning and if both shows had been here we still wouldn't have sold out the second one - 3 hours is a car doesn't decide whether you go see Prince or not!

^ Inner Circle was definitely on fire, I could see that My point was that the rest of the place wasn't, until the end, with the occasional exception like myself And Inner Circle is only a small portion of the place. I guess it all depends on where you were. From where I was standing it was like a clear line was drawn between the front and the midddle /back, it was actually like watching two totally different events going on at the same time. But I enjoyed myself anyway. So I guess we just have to agree to disagree. Anyway the most important thing is that we, the fans, had a great time [Edited 10/23/10 6:27am]

Anyway the most important thing is that we, the fans, had a great time I agree - i was in inner circle in forum; but sensed the overall vibe very strong before, under and after the concert. I took a spontanius flight to jylland to see prince in herning; no inner circle ticket tho. What stood out to me was the dull very lame approach the public had: the party was on a real low (compared to forum) it was not because of prince and the band, but mainly about the audience. I had this terrible feeling that the audience would have loved cliff richard or elton john better: what an unfunky bunch of people, even tho the arena is much better than forum. Honestly: this arena is suposed to be placed in copenhagen. We deserve it so much more than jylland.

Last nite's Prince concert in Herning was great. The crowd was slow in the beginning but I have been to concerts in Belgium, Germany and Holland ... and I guess it is just about the same. The fun thing was that at the end, everybody got the groove and danced or at least moved. Oh and by the way. Malmö arena just across the Öresund bridge is on par with Hernings arena, just about 10% smaller. So "big names" fit there.

The Herning show was OK. People just didn't leave (at first) after Peach. I think the ending deserves just a tad more, perhaps?

Apart from the better sound in Herning (though not perfect, drums and bass drowned in the overall sound), I liked the Herning show and audience better, simply because there seemed to be less drunk people shouting stupid stuff, smoking indoors and moving like they were the only ones in the 10.000+ size building. So much for the capital Copenhagen shakin'

^ as i said boring btw. Didnt see/felt anything anoying in forum. Otherwise in herning there were, in my perspecive A LOT og drunk people, not that its a problem if they are positive and partying; but they were not. [Edited 10/23/10 7:29am]

Yeah, I guess it all depends what crowd you end up in. And besides, like Catch22 said, it was probably 50/50 of CPH/Jutland people, so it's really hard to tell what makes the difference: The people, the band, the venue, the day...!? I liked both shows, Herning better than Forum, but enjoyed Amager Bio the most

I have to let stuff sink in a bit. But I enjoyed all of these shows (plus Bergen). Each in a somewhat different regard perhaps. Sound was no issue. I had an almost great spot each time.
I am still looking for words for e.g. the Amager Bio show. I mean: playfull is not just enough. Loving, funky, funny, etc.
(And the cold wait was soo forgotten...)
Why was paying 500 DKK so hard to do so that the queue moved so unbaringly slow? Is the crisis hitting too hard in Denmark? Or is 500 considered much? (about 70 euros.... see xe.com/ucc for details)
