It seems that the only source is TV channel Suomitv. They haven't revealed where they got the information from. Here's the article on their website (in finnish). It suggests that Helsinki is only one date in the middle of an entire tour. Personally I'm not convinced, but I heard that Suomitv were also the first to report a concert date by Ozzy Osbourne so there might be truth to this.

Does anybody have the link to where those tickets may be sold? Or anyplace confirming? I'd LOVE to go to the show, I lived in Finland in 2008-2009 and would love an excuse to go back...Prince is a darn good reason. I wish they would confirm the dates already and not cancel. I saw he had canceled 2 previous shows before with very short notice. It would suck to go all the way over and he cancel. Still a cool vacation spot and I love going always, but this time I'd specifically be going to see Prince. biggrin

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

The promoter is RL Entertainment, which is not one of the "big boys" in Finland. Lately they have brought some smaller acts like Mika and Wu-Tang clan to Helsinki, to smaller venues. The website is is http://www.rle.fi . They say the tickets will be up for sale on this Friday.

Ooh... There was a full-page advert in the free newspaper today. cool

I'll definitely be getting the tickets, but I won't believe the show is happening until I see him on stage. lol

They were supposed to go on sale on Friday morning (=today), but it's been postponed. The official explanation is that they're not quite aware yet how much room the stage is going to take and how they are going to place the seats around it.

I suppose they will go on sale next week.

Getting the equipment over the baltic sea has always been a problem with the gigs in Finland. This is why many acts do not come over here even if they would visit Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Of course, the official explanation is that they haven't figured out how to set the stage at the venue yet. I don't think it's an unreasonable explanation, because the place itself was designed mostly for ice hockey games in mind.

Ten years ago the stage set-up might have been issue, but there has been at least a hundred concerts by now... Standing, seated, center-stage, end-stage, see-through end-stage, etc.

I would guess the location is a bigger issue, but it's not as critical of you start the tour in Helsinki and have a few days before the next show.

Not that I still truly believe the show is happening. lol
