I went to Eric Clapton there 5 or so years back. The sound was superb, as was his playing, although EC is so dull as an on stage presence (in fact no presence at all)...

The Royal Albert Hall is notorious for bad sound.

It was not designed for its acoustics and certainly not for modern audio systems. The sound was a problem from the first ever show in the 1870's.

They finally tried to fix the problem (with limited success) in the sixties when they installed those huge mushroom shapes on the ceiling to break up the echo.

Great looking venue......but no one for the audiophile.....

Ronnie Scotts would be perfect. It's an outstanding request from me when he asked fans for suggestions in previous years - he's bound to have remembered...
