NO support acts.

Just Prince.

No security.

People were going from the seats to the Innenraum without problem.

So it was theft that was allowed during the show.

Maybe, but it appeared to be at Prince's request that the crowd were more evenly spaced out throughout the auditorium.

Waldbuhne was 2/3rds full for the first 10 minutes. Prince then disappeared to the left hand side of the stage and spoke to one of the crew, who then spoke to one of the sound managers onstage. That guy then spoke into a radio to the ushers, who allowed people from the higher seats to come closer to the stage and stand in either the golden circle section, or at either side of the innenraum.

I had one of the Eur 155 tickets, and the section I was in was less than half full, D-E-A-D and empty for the first few songs, then.....boom, chaos and thousands of Germans descended into the area I was at and filled it up.

It just made for a much better atmosphere, and obviously levelled the sound in the amphitheatre better (and looked better for Prince too, probably).

Was this a great gig in Berlin or what? We had a awsome time! I threw my present just right on stage. It lay there for almost the whole concert. I thought he would not pick it up anymore. But then he walked to our parcel, opened one ribbon and decides to throw it right back into the crowd! I thought my designer and I are going to faint! What a shame! But at least he had it in his hands, next time he'll keep it to himself.

Do u want to know what was inside? Well, purple bondage rope, purple-black custom-made collar Prince Style-special design by our designer. A black steel cockring with Svarowski-crystals and a very petit handmade glasdildo, golden mask. Well, just a very kinky trendy present 4 a kinky sexy man. But i guess, some other people r going to have some fun with our stuff! So I guess it has to be Vienna to try again smile

Have a glipse at my Prifile pic there you can see how he is at least holding our present in his hands. Bigger pic at Facebook http://www.facebook.com/?...0680447597

Sure. But why compensate for mad ticket prices this way?

Somebody made a big error and could not sell 20.000 tickets.

They failed.

So now some of the simple people lose out due to their stupidty as selling tickets is their core business. So it was an epic fail for that part.

The Innenraum was nice when the show started. It got way more crowded afterwards.

So, just as in Arras and in Linz and in Geneva they try to 'fix' the situation by creating even more problems.

I'm just saying there was security, etc. It's just that they were told to let people do as they pleased - no matter if they paid 5 or 155 Euro for their ticket.

^I get what you are saying, but I don't feel I lost out.

I felt like a complete cock standing there all alone while Prince looked over to my section, noticed it was almost empty, and said "woah, there's room over there for dancers". I don't mind that people who paid half the price of my ticket got to come down to the more expensive area.

They got a better view, Prince got a better atmosphere, and we all got a better concert.

Somebody somewhere is to blame for the attendance, but it didn't dampen my personal experience.

I contacted eventim.

I bought two tickets for 155 €, plus tax, fees etc., something like 333 € and though I do understand your point, I must admit that the show was so good that I don´t really regret buying expensive tickets. With the cheap tickets you had the risk of not really seeing much.

I don´t think that there´s much we can do in order to get a refund or even a "sorry" from Eventim.

A friend of mine who had the cheaper tickets said he´d feel really pissed if he had bought the tickets that I bought.

Anyway...it was a fantastic concert experience.

HILARIOUS!!

I think it was a smartly dressed women in a white linen dress that caught it. I saw her on the way out and people were asking about it but she wouldn't open it. I don't speak German so I couldn't hear if she had already looked in it. She looked very happy certainly. lol

The concert itself was great. Hope those going to the rest of the shows get a fantastic setlist too.

I contacted eventim.

I think that Eventim is the one to blame to start with. They classified the tickets in such a way that people either booked the super tickets for 155 € or the cheap ones for 84 € (as we did). The 120 € seats were just not that attractive. The result was the middle section being nearly empty, which must have looked stupid from the stage and killed the atmosphere a bit. The decision to open it up was the only possible consequence, though this number of people walking around (including ourselves) ruined the flow of the first few songs a bit imo. If Eventim had offered tickets for this particular section for 90 or 95 €, people would've booked it, so now they effectively lost money. Btw, Eventim also screwed up on the organisation of the public transport. They apparently haven't contacted the BVG, so the guys were completely unprepared for the large number of people. We luckily ended up in an absolutely overcrowded train, but we kept the good vibe by singing bits of "Purple Rain" in there. biggrin

Now for the concert itself: great, great, great!!! The only minimal drawback might have been that Prince's guitar was not turned up enough at times, and I think that's why he repeatedly yelled "turn me up". It wouldn't surprise me if a certain guitar tech is unemployed by now... wink Still: what a show! The versions of "Delirious" and "Peach" were among the best I know, and "Kiss" was also super-tight. I loved the horn-less band for a change (though I adore Maceo, Greg and Candy), and the harmonica dude (nice addition!) and Sheila were superb!!!

You're right, of course. It's the mixing guy, correct?

On the other hand, he also had problems with the Fender on "Crimson and Clover" and had to change guitars in the middle of the song. So it's two people without a job now, I suppose...

Regarding the Fender: As I said in a post above - typical prob with the trem(olo). Though trem bridges from recent years are *much* better than the very original ones (80s, not to mention those before that), extreme use of bending makes the strings go out of tune.

It'was and is real! The Lady from security turned slightly red, when she asked me to open the box, she wanted to know what's inside, I told her and she blushed. He would have liked it, i know. So now it's up to the poeple who caught the present to let us know how they liked it, i guess they never expected this to be in this box.

It's nice that you were convinced to come all the way to Berlin anyway and there is no way of regretting it. It's impossible to regret a night with Prince smile

For us hardcore fans we of course don't want to hear those evergreens, as 1999 is unlikely our favorite song, but it's his performance that will engage everybody and he could just keep throwing sex toys in black boxes into the audience and we would still be freaking out smile
