after d'most intimate & overwhelming nighttown concert last saturday ~ we Xperienced da best bonus @ 06:40 in the morning still hangin'out B4 nighttown waiting 4 our ride home!
there was a lotta fuss when da crew left;
3 big busses waitin'...sheila E getting in da bus, da dj 4got his equipment ~ secuirity people goin in and out the nighttown cafe...
and we were just waiting ... nighttown closed...da last fanz dripping off...goin home...rainin a lillte more...((
anyway: finally the 3 busses left! but they 4got an official security member!
again some fuss...he called 4 da buss 2 B picked up...
da buss came back & then suddenlY: we saw Prince & his wife walking through d'nighttowncafe on their way out!!!
all the fuss was apparently planned, a setuP 2 mislead d'hardcore waiting outside!
Oh! we were completly focused and sucked up d'Xperience of Cing HIM step outside - Bing so slose 2 uz - we catched all hiS vibeZ - he & his wife passed uZ, walking hand in hand, smiling & looking in da sweetest way! we said 'bye' & he looked & said 'thank U' and they got in da buss !!*!!*)
diz certainly was THE icing on da cake 15 october miXed wiz d'nighttown gig juiced uP wiz diz up close & personal: when do U ever get a change 2 B so close?!!
anyway our senses R filled in da best & upper complete wayz,u can iMagine...!!!

have 2 tell u a little story which mixes 2gether with yours: one of my friends (we know each other since we are 15) was the bus-driver of prince for the whole european tour - i mean he was driving this black bus where prince & his wife was touring trough europe. i met him twice - once in berlin and once in zurich and we had time to talk a little and what he told me about prince really made me smiling - he said p was very gentle, often talked to him during the drives from one city to another and really had fun 2gether

one little story that made me really laughing (hope my englisch is good enough to translate it): when they were sitting in the bus from brussels to berlin (an 9 hour ride) p asked after 5 minutes, how long the ride would be - my friend said about 9 hours! 20 minutes later p came to my friend and asked: aren`t we already here?

from this time on, my friend said, it was a givin` and takin` and they often had a laugh together.

wow - it was always my dream to know prince since i am 14. now one of my friend really knows him - and i am lookin forward for december - then he will be back from the next tours (now he is driving with pink and the foo fighters btw.) to listen to the stories he will hopefully tell me.

to hear someone saying this, who is by the max 165 cm high is really funny.

beside the good thing of the job, it is not so easy - as you know, they often had to be in another city the next day after a concert - and prince seldom flew but always wanted to take this bus - so my friend had to drive often at 4-5 in the morning to the next city - bring p to the hotel - fetch him at 4 in the afternoon an bring him to the stadium.

i.e. when they were in brussels (as i told you) the next day was concert in berlin - 9 hours ride in the morning!

i often phoned to him, and he sometimes told me, that p was sleeping like a "little king" (his words) in the back of the bus.

another funny story has happend in berlin:
me, my wife, my brother & his wife went through berlin at 11 in the morning to have a little sight-seeing. we have just been "unter den linden", which is very famous in berlin, when someone blew the horn of his car - my wife in the first moment, said to me "hey f.. up - we are just walking across the street" - then i turned around and u know who was behind us - this big black bus with prince in it and my friend behind the wheel! i mean, berlin got 3.5 million inhabitans - what an coincidence - the hotel of p was just around the corner - we ran behind the bus and watched what was happening - but there was this 2 bodyguards who saw us, with the cam in the hand - no chance that p would come out of the bus! so we went away and were looking forward for the concert that evening - and it was worth every second waiting!!!

Lovely lovely memories thanks for sharing - I also heard from his Canadian promoter that he was very nice and friendly - quite a contrast from my other friend who was his A&R rep around the Emancipation release - my friend had to pick him up at the airport and was instructed not to look prince in the eye or talk to him directly - he has completely turned around THANK GOD FOR THAT :PRAY:
