...I think the "white boy" next to me was offended durin the chorus! HA!!! 1999 actually was great, very 1982 feel to it. Low point: Let's Go Crazy. I now hate that song! Shhh & Controvery were great & If I Was Your Girlfriend gave CHILLS! I took my 12 year old daughter for the experience, here sumation, "Dad, I was blown away!" I loved that... Time for Club Nokia now... LATER! That's so cool!! I took my 12 year old son and he spent all Sunday playing his guitar, Prince-inspired!! -- He wanted to hear Dance For Me cuz that's his "song" off the new albums -- “Wait a second. Do you think I’m a racist?”
“Sure, Butch. Everybody’s a racist. I am. You are. This is America. It’s our national religion. The question you want to ask is, do I think your racism affects how ... you behave toward me."

This morning we getting ready for work & school & the Channel 5 news shows a clip of Myle Cyrus accepting some award and crying and my daughter just laughs and says, "She's a joke huh dad, she'll never be able to pick up a guitar and make IT cry!" I said no baby she won't, now lace up your Chuck Taylors we're gonna be late... Never let me slip, cause if I slip, then I'm slippin

As has been said before the sound system was horrid.
This was apparent even during the pre-show tunes that were being played. Since I was there with my wife I restrained myself from my general techno-geek behavior of roaming the venue checking out the sound (including the mixer) from various vantage points. The question is was it the speaker system, the power amps or some ancillary gear in the system that was causing the problem. The other show that i've seen in this venue were the sound sticklers that are Steely Dan (July 2008). At that show, the sound system was just OK but i've heard them sound much better. From what I understand, they wanted their own system used but the venue wouldn't allow it. I had a conversation with Morris Hayes after the show and not only was he thoroughly disgusted with the sound, but he said Prince was livid. He said that they were also having the problem during sound check. Sidebar: Magic Johnson created a bit of a ruckus when he went to his seat. He had a full weekend attending the NOKIA Theatre show and then jetting to Indy to witness Michigan State brutalize Louisville in the NCAA tournament. I must give props to the Super-Trooper fans (2 ladies from Atlanta) who were helpful in getting my friend and his pregnant wife's "Pit Tickets" traded for Orchestra seats. Also, a big hello to MIGUELGOMEZ (the only "Cali-Orger" I saw at the show that i've met before) Through it all, it seemed that the crowd was into it (at least from the Orchestra section forward) Maybe what will come out of this sound disaster will be some L.A. make-up gigs. YAY finally get to post! (i signed up 5 days ago after nokia show, but the forum wouldnʻt let me post...how GREAT the show was(at least in the audience & notwithstanding the sound issues). was lucky to be in the second row center and there were 2 spares seats next to me so had room to groove and rock out. i never got to see jimi hendrix live, but i think seeing prince is just as prolific, and I was blessed to be there and experience musical genius.
loved that prince invited all those cats up to funk out on the stage...i wanna go up next time...i wanna be one of his backing singers! (la la la la laala) loved the setlist, overall vibe at the show. so inspired this week. canʻt wait to see him again live. only bummer (if you could even say that) was didnʻt get to hear/see i would die 4 u live and the show ending after 90 minutes (!!!! woulda loved a 3-hour gig!!! but thatʻs a bit greedy ). was stoked to hear if i was your girlfriend....was just singing it before the show....now prince has infiltrated my subconscious, cuuz iʻve been waking up all week with his tunes in my head... i wish u heaven
