Cancelling Croke Park.. One thing is for sure to cancel a gig for 55,000 people is not a small decision. Prince should issue a statement and apologise for the huge inconvenience this causes to many people, however I have every confidence that this decision was not made lightly. To put on a show of this magnitude does not just involve one person, it involves many people, logistics, suppliers etc and it has an impact on many things other than the ticket buyers.
With this in mind, I would hope that the reason it has been cancelled so late is because Prince did everything in his power to prevent this from happening and for whatever reason the only solution was to cancel the concert. I have every confidence he will return next year and deliver the goods just as outstandingly as he has done many times in the past. We can now look forward to the 21 nights book and to 2009 when he returns. In the meantime lets party like it was 1999 in Dublin on Monday night and accept things as they are and without question! | |
