Can't you guys start a thread in which you can burn each other down without blocking other threads?
We are here for the music, and who knows, to meet some new friends. Prince, and maceo in this case, deserve more respect than this childish lil arguments.

Only now getting a chance to post about the Leeds gig. Was a pretty good turn out. Not the largest of venues by far, but that made all the better. We had two support bands to warm us up a little. The first of the two I'm desperate to find out the name of.... so if anyone was there and knows it??
Anyways, the first was a mixture of funk and soul with a lead singer switching between singing and rapping... certainly got my attention as I walked in. The second of the two was a straight up soul jam..... no lyrics as far as I can remember. They seemed to be quite young from where I was standing, but never the less, very tight and they seemed to be having quite a bit of fun on stage together. Next was Maceo. The crowed had been pretty subdued up until this point. But as soon as Maceo came up on the stage everyone seemed to be up on their feet dancing, cheering..... all eyes glued on him. To be honest, I not sure if some people there were expecting just that something extra... like an appearance from a certain someone . What ever people expectation's were, I was just enjoying the show and getting my grove on with the missus.... that is until, I think, his PR lady(?), came out on stage to join him for 'To Be or Not To Be'. Not sure why she does this, but the atmosphere changed pretty quickly at this point. People even started booing her as she did her 'Shakespeare' thing. I shouldn't laugh..... but I think I left out a little chuckle at this point. Can't remember if her performance was cut short, but as soon as she left the stage, Maceo was back on it again!! He just looks like he enjoys it so much up there and I think the crowd just feeds on that. Reminded me a lot of the aftershow parties from the O2. The show was wrapped up with Pass the Peas. Maceo teased us bit after walking back onto the stage with a pair of shades and then burst into a full on dirty funk (can I say Maceo and dirty funk in the same sentence??) version of Pass the Peas. All in all, it was a pretty good night. Very relaxed as well. People took a few photo's without being hassled. I even stood next to the woman from the first support band as she filmed part of it on a camcorder. More that worth the ticket price... which I think was £15.... give or take 50 pence. Sorry if this is a bit vague guys.. and I'm missing a lot of the songs. But the truth is that I'm only now getting familiar with Maceo's work. Either way... I'm a fan for life now [Edited 4/22/08 2:00am]

He ended up with pass the pease here in Holland too. Everybody was counting on it, would have been a crime to leave without.

Have fun! You'll have a great time. Make sure you're somewhere front. Maceo interacts with the crowd a lot and will shake hands after the concert.
