it's a shame! they've learnt how to capitalize from aftershows...We already pay 100$ per year, now I've just spent 200$ for 2 aftershow tix...maybe he'll just play for 40 minutes...I feel really...confused, ...bad...
cheers

Is it better to give or to receive $100 x 1.200?

Well, there you've got the answer.

There is a freedom of choice not to go. If u've seen him on this tour y do u need 2 c him again so soon? If thats the case then u can't complain about paying these high prices because ur obviously willing 2 do it. As a one off every 4 years its ok...but if u choose 2 go 2 every single show then obviously its gonna b expensive 4 u.

Enough pathetic jokes, I'm sorry.

Seriously, I don't know the price of the Nighttown gig but if it is as expensive as Paris I'm not going.

I'm a bit worried though : If Prince KNOWS he HAS TO play an aftershow, what is the energy level of the 'normal' show going to be, and is it going to be SHORT?

yes, NPGMC tix for Paris (the main concert which i assumed included soundcheck + aftershow/party) were $39.00 each,

Will it be like this in Paris

Soundcheck, Concert, Afterparty, soundcheck II (bataclan), Concert II, Aftershow ? shrug

WTF! why should these tix B so DAMN expensive?? OK, the venue is small but do we all have to get broke? I think it is a bit much, let's hope Rotterdam will be less!

Those who think it's too expensive have the choice not to go...having said that, I also think he better do something VERY good for another $100.

I want to say it again. This is not fair for all type of fans: the ones who want to go to numerous concerts as well as the ones who just go to one concert, say in this case Paris.

In the pre-sale for Paris, people bought tickets hoping for a soundcheck and an aftershow or afterparty to happen. In other words 39 EUR should have covered these three elements (even if it was only an afterparty with no performance, people may find that fun to meet with other fans and have a glimpse of Prince and his musicians after the concert).

Clearly, the aftershow/party is no more covered by what it was paid.

Just NOT FAIR.

Wow! They only paid $ 39 for a normal concert?
Than, with the $ 100 for the extra gig, you pay just about as much for two regular concerts in Rotterdam (tix ranging from Euro 50 to Euro 65) or one and a half in Japan!lol

I'm afraid this is the end of the "aftershow concept". Oh, come on, sure these "late-nite performances" are great, but it's just that I'm not feeling the idea anymore. Back in the 80's it was just a question of guessing, good luck and Prince's will to play -just for fun!. Now they see that every "fam" wants to be there ... so then, ok, lets just get their money!. We still don't know what will happen at these clubs, but it's just that this is not the idea. To organize an aftershow (sorry, "late-nite performance") days in advance ... to announce it worldwide through the net ... to charge nearly THREE times the price of the main concert ... Mmmh...

I'm not one for bitching all the time about the NPGMC, but all this just make think. And not very kind ideas.

One thing though: I went to the London concerts and they were GREAT. Also the aftershow at the Marquee was the bomb. And of course I'd love to see him again. But, apart from can't afford it, I just think it's not very nice.

Something's rotten, ya'll.

Impressionist paintings are worth millions, not because the canvas and paint costs that much but because the market can sustain that price.

Same with Prince, if he fills these places at $100 a pop, then that suggests the market can sustain that price. If you can't afford it or think it's too much for what you get, you simply choose not to go, nobody's forcing you to go. I'd like to buy a Monet but I can't afford.

In 40 years time when you're old and grey, maybe you'll look back on this night and think, wow, that was a fantastic night, I wouldn't have missed it for the world. $100 will seem quite small then.

Charging $100 limits the numbers into this small venue. If he was charging £30, everybody would snap at the chance, and hundreds would be moaning that they didn't have a chance to get a ticket because it would sell out in seconds and how unfair that was...
