Thats what I got from TM: Hope its true wink

Dear Customer,

The information we were provided about the Gold Circle A and B is that
there would be two different entrances simply for crowd control purposes.
If you have a different entrance route to your friend this will not be a
big problem you will more than likely be admitted together.

Yours faithfully,

Sounds good but unfortunately the key words here are
more than likely which doesn't in fact mean definately or even probably.

Sounds to me like they don't know either.

Oh the joys! biggrin

Hi all Golden Ones

I bought my tickets on the phone and there was no conformation that they were even golden tickets let alone A or B. Only found out about the allocation on here. I rang TM to find out and the gentleman on the phone assured me that there was no difference between the two and that it was just used to aid numbering the tickets. smile

There better not be as we are in B

P.S. Any one up for wearing gold (at least one garment /accessory!)

That’s two of us so far then - that would be amazing if he sang it for us - ha ha

I’m thinking about outing my shimmering gold bootleg pants, they are very similar to those blue iridescent ones prince wears in RAVE un2 the year 2000.

How about you? – It’s never to early to start thinking dress code

I got GoldB....but that's not my problem...yet!. Please forgive me if I'm being really stupid about this.....I was under the impression that gold is all standing, but when I checked my account on ticketmaster it said this:

Section - Gold B
Row - G3
Type - A-stan
Seats 719-720

Is this just an administration thing to assign seat numbers even if it's standing, or are there gonna be seats in the gold circle?

I think it's simply an administrative thing to keep track of the number of Gold Circle tickets. Consider:

General admission ticket for the June 22, 1997, concert at Deer Creek Music...

This was a general admission lawn ticket for a show Prince did at an outdoor amphitheater. It's supposedly for a Seat 53 in Row L3, but no such seat (or row) exists at that venue. If you have a lawn ticket, you just pick an open spot anywhere on the grass and take it.

Also note that your ticket says "A-stan." I assume that "stan" is short for "standing."

I have seated tickets Row L in 306 for me and Catpark too.....just have to decide whether I wanna stand or sit....I think I'm getting way too old for this shit!!!

I know the feeling. comfort When I was 18 or 19, I preferred general admission "seating" and was happy to stand for hours if that meant being in the front row. Now I'm about to turn 30, and these days, I'd much rather have an actual seat.

I'm getting old. sigh

This is slightly confusing. I was told a few days before tickets went on sale that there were standing and seating in the gold circle, but as we couldn't work out how they would do that i tought it was wrong. It now seems that prople have allocated seat numbers for the gold circle but this proves nothing. It is still possibly an administration thing to keep track of the amount of people in the gold circle.
I think its all gonna be just fine. Anyone in the gold circle will have a great time regardeless. I cannot understand why people spend so much time worrying and getting worked up about who has better tickets. At least we dont have to spend the night freezing our asses off on windy oul Grafton street overnight. Im grateful for what i got...Peace

I'd consider the venue to be a more reliable source than some anonymous Ticketmaster employee who has no firsthand knowledge of what's going on at the venue. Whenever I've had a seating question like this, I've always gotten an accurate answer from the venue box office.

(Also note that their answer begins with: "The information we were provided...." Provided by whom?)

Unfortunately for the folks with B tickets, if I'm reading this thread correctly, it seems as if the venue is consistently telling people that these are separate sections, with A being closer to the stage.

It's actually "All that glisters is not gold." Prince may or may not know it but if he did then he probably opted for 'glitters' as it is more pronounceable when sung. The lyrics aren't his most thought provoking anyway so it's a good job he put some effort into the music.

Will I wear gold? Maybe a pair of gold hotpants. Should look tasty with my hairy belly, moobs and ickle dinkle tucked to the left.

hmm... that's exactly my idea of sexy. Seriously though, you got balls when you'll pull a kylie. And get past the security...

I know... the expression is the same in dutch. But somehow, along the way, it became glitters, for as far as i can hear&understand. Or maybe i have a really bad tape...
Isn't my fav either, but it sure fits the gold-cirkle-thing

I just looked at that ticket again, and I noticed something that escaped my attention before.

See where it says "X312"?

Perhaps Ticketmaster does things differently in Ireland, but here's how it works in the U.S.

The "X Number" is Ticketmaster's assessment of how desirable a given ticket is. The lower the X Number, the "better" your ticket is (in Ticketmaster's opinion, anyway). When you search their database, Ticketmaster will offer you tickets with the lowest X Number that meet whatever limitations you put on your search.

(Note: There's only one range of X Numbers for the whole venue. So if the "best" balcony seats are 50X, and you ask Ticketmaster for balcony tickets, the system will start looking at 50X and go up from there.)

The "best" tickets in the house will be 1X, like this example:

Front-row ticket from the March 11, 2002, concert in the Murat Theatre at t...

That was for one of only 18 front-row seats in a small venue. No barrier between us and the stage. In fact, the stage was my armrest. Now that's a 1X ticket.

Now, let's consider this ticket:

Ticket stub from the June 13, 2000, concert at Northrop Auditorium on the c...

I wasn't so lucky that time: 47X. (Row 38 out of 42 on the main floor, although I was in one of center sections.)

Back to the Croke Park ticket. X312? shocked I've never seen a ticket with an X Number that high (i.e., bad). Now, I understand that this is a very large venue. But still, "Gold Circle" tickets are supposed to be the best possible tickets, and even if these Gold Circle "B" tickets are behind Gold Circle "A," X312 seems unusually high.

But again, perhaps the whole X Number thing is different in Ireland. Anybody know for sure how it works there?

Nice detective work!

My bet is the numbering system is different. There is no way, based on what we know has been sold that gold cirlce could be totally crap.

My guess. X312 is used because there is a four digit cut off and it's supposed to be X 3121.

X312? Hmm. I'm sure, but don't quote me on this, that it was a door combination for Resident Evil: Code Veronica. If this is the case then I'm not going! There was some scary shit happening in that place I can tell you! Still gives me the willies thinking about it.
