OBERHAUSEN: A place to stay.

Please, can anybody tell me a nice place to stay in Oberhausen or Duisburg. I searched the net but could only find expencive hotels. I am from Holland and want to spend the weekend in Germany with my girlfriend before joining the concert. Where should I stay: Oberhausen or Duisburg?

ThanX

Jorgen and Nienke.

Stay in Oberhausen. There R a few good hotels, one just 100 meters away from the Arena. Go shopping in the CentrO, visit the Gasometer and the Rheinische Industriemuseum.

For Duisburg I'd suggest this link (in english)
http://www.duisburg-touri...index.html
click "DU Information", then "Hotel search". They got 4 price categories (0 - 30Eur, 30 - 50Eur etc.).
(Or in german http://www.duisburg-infor...ndex.html)

Hallo,

I found a hotel in Duisburg, very close to the Hbf. I'm sure we will enjoy our stay in the former industry area.
I'm looking foreward to the concert. Hope it's as good as Hamburg.

See you there.
Jorgen en Nienke.

Hi there,

through HRS (www.hrs.de) I found the following Hotel which seems to be quite close to the Arena:

Hotel: Astron

Düppelstr. 2
46045 Oberhausen
Deutschland

Tel. 0208/82440
Fax 0208/8244200

Unfortunately no E-Mail address, but maybe some of you may want to give it a try.
Peace!

It's no problem to get to the arena in oberhausen from duisburg central station (Hbf). it's only 15/20minutes.
