Any other thoughts on a possible venue besides Nighttown?

Besides Nighttown my guess would be Heineken Music Hall...that would be a blast...sound is great there...5000 attendance..

1200 members+guests in Ahoy oct 15th.

1000 people capacity in Nighttown.

1200 - 1000 = 200 people who can't get in.

200/2 = 100 $100-paying-members who can't get in.

So, 500 guests inside and 100 members outside.

Is this fair?

What about the 013 in Tilburg? Big enough and intimate enough for an funky and personal aftershow. Definitly no HMH. That place is about as dead as it can get... Funk won't sound good over there...

All the members would fit in and some non-member so everybody gets a change... Life would be great!

Hi,
thanks for the info, but what about the anouncement on the nighttown website?
Thanks

I would rather see an intimate aftershow than yet another big Ahoy show. But I would be satisfied anyway... Maybe after the 3d Ahoy concert there will be an aftershow smile

if u add things up u will come to the next explination:

- Nighttown is promoting itself for an aftershow with pre-sale

- NPGMC is telling about a third event in The Netherlands

Conclusion: Prince is a money rat and doesn't perform on the Aftershow the 2nd, but performs there another date, so we all can pay again. Maybe he thinks it's clever and thinks we all are stupid!!!

or the way i see it:

Nighttown secured Prince to play on Nov 2nd (after midnight, so actually November 3rd)
They promote this as "the afterparty" of the Nov 2nd Ahoy Show.

NPGMC however rather sells tickets to this show, than letting all 1200-ish members in for 'free' or 'guest fee'.
So they DENY this is an aftershow and promote this as a third concert in Rotterdam.

So in the end Nov 2nd Ahoy visitors will be duped out of an afterparty/show. whereas 'Third Concert' visitors pay to see a show with NO soundcheck entrance or afterparty (the after-afterparty?, i think not) in a venue the size of an afterparty venue.

It will still be the same people (Members) attending only they'll now be paying visitors.

Maybe it will b an xtra show in a smaller venue. Perhaps only 4 the members and not 4 any guests...
eye do not blieve prince could sell out another ahoy'...
Mayb that's y nighttown talks about a presale...

This probably means nov 2 show in Ahoy will be shorter or just a "normal" show sad

Just a guess - members only show at Hein Muic Hall in A'dam allowing for guests and some tickets for public? Same night.

This is what I'm thinking 2, just that I'm not 2 sure if the people who will see the Ahoy soundcheck + show will be the same members who will see this additional concert. That's because NPGMC will hold a complete new presale 4 the third show in Rotterdam. If the venue 4 this third concert will indeed be Nighttown then this will be sold out in minutes of course...just by members.
The rumor about the Heineken Music Hall makes no sense anymore since NPGMC already confirmed that it would be an extra concert 4 Rotterdam...and not Amsterdam wink
So my logic tells me that it will either be Nighttown indeed, or perhaps a bigger venue in Rotterdam. And that if u wanna go then u have 2 b an npgmc-member who needs 2 get lucky in the presale that's coming up...

I have a STRONG reason to believe Nighttown is booked by Prince for that night and promissed/guaranteed a show.
Otherwise they would not have been announcing that the way they did.
Now they're just waiting for NPGMC as to how to distribute the tix. If at all, since it looks like now that NPGMC will hold their own member only sale.

You're probably right about the fact that prince did book Nighttown for whatever reason (party or gig), but when Nighttown started to announce it (in their ignorance or stupidity) Prince might have changed his mind about it.
Utter chaos isn't unthinkable after the show in Ahoy.

So my guess is that he wanted to do an extra show instead.
Nighttown is still an option for a party I think, I wouldn't count on a show anymore.

And since NPGMC claims that the extra show will be in Rotterdam and Ahoy isn't available, De Doelen would be an excellent option!!! So far the shows in the small(er) venues were much better that the large venue shows!!

De Doelen?!? Are you serious? I thought that was the perfect place for concerts from BZN or something like that. How much people fit in there anyway?

It is possible to mess up the sound there. Although I've heard great show in HMH the sound at the Cranberries show was terrible.

Is there not a concert ending at 11pm @ Nighttown on Nov 2? Then add 4000 people outside at 12:00 am? Sounds like insanity. The mumblings about a members only show may indeed be true??? Man North America was a picnic compared to all of this (ya ya you can say go home to me) but hell no!

Believe it or not is a perfect place for a jazzy Prince show!! Much like the venues he played in Hamburg and London.

Not sure how many people will fit in De Doelen.

BTW I saw Maxwell perform an excellent show there, the place has very good acoutics!

NPGMC seem to be emphasising that a second concert will be added - the same night or next day??? Better do it soon.

Indeed there is concert scheduled at 20:00 hrs at Nighttown by Frank Boeijen (a Dutch singer).
At 22:00 hrs there will be a ska/reggae evening with band.
And on top of it all Sister Bliss (Faithless) and others will start something/whatever at 23:30 hrs.
So Prince at 2nd November?? I doubt it.

Planet Lowlands! True, I might not be very objective on this matter. I've been to the HMH several times and I've never seen a good concert over there. I like (accoustic)atmosphere which is not present over there. I guess it's just personly. Yes, I would rather see him pretty much everywhere accept for the HMH...

NPGMC hype machine at work to create another show (hopefully with a after show type set). Man I'll need a shrink after all of this insanity in The Netherlands. Word Up! Praveer B

My idea exactly Praveer!
Better an extra show, than a rather short aftershow!

Ya - would be cool. I hope all the members will be happy in the end. Alot of tension for me but music is in my veins and I am here for another transfusion! Why else fly across the Atlantic? To have beer spilt on me by Style?
