Who Is Going to See George Clinton 3/11?

As there doesn't appear to be a thread for this yet I thought I'd start one.
Got my ticket yesterday and really looking forward to it. I was unsure about Maceo Parker but loved it so and I'm sure George will be just as entertaining.
And I promise that this time I will try to get there a bit earlier than just before the set starts! lol

Yes, I did make rather a mess of it didn't I! Luckily the 3rd is a Saturday so that gives me more time to sort myself out.

I am!

However, George is playing with the Funk Brothers NOT P-FUNK. So we will not get to see the Parliament/Funkadelic Mob this time out.

The London show is Georges first with the Funk Brothers so nobody knows what to expect.

I wish I could say I'd meet up - so wish I could go. Been listening to some of his CD's and they are brilliant. Hope you all have a GREAT time and please post full report on Prince.org as soon as possible after the concert because I'll be standing by to read them.

Anyone know what time the show begins? Is it seating downstairs or just the usual floor? Anyone have any Kings Row seats to sell / swap for downstairs (plus some cash) ?

Funny you should ask that - I just called Indigo2 and here is the programme of events for tomorrow evening:

Doors OPEN at 7
8 - 8.45 - JACK ASHFORD on stage
9 - 10.30 - GEORGE CLINTON on stage
11 - Doors CLOSE

Yeah, I know, I couldn't believe this early finish but Indigo2 told me that for this event they only have a licence until 11 p.m. We shall see.

I've seen on here that some have tickets for upstairs (Kings Row/Balcony) but understand that they are now no longer available on Ticketmaster. If you go on the Ticketmaster website though there is a floor/seating plan on there specifically for George Clinton at Indigo2 so have a look at that.

I've just checked on the Ticketmaster website and there still are King Rows and Floor sections tickets available. You have to select the highest price for Kings Row and ignore the "n/a" showing in the box below, then just click continue.

Will be in Nandos from 5pm, then in line at the Indigo. May wear my Prince 21 Days in London t-shirt.

OK we'll be there a bit later than that - probably around 6.30 ish and will eat before we go in Indigo2 but not sure where we'll go to eat. We're meeting up with a couple of others from here. So if I don't spot you, myself and my brother (Mentalist) will be wearing red "Got Funk?" tops we got from the recent Maceo Parker gig so shouldn't be too difficult to spot!

Hi all. Just heading off to the 02 now for some food - will be in indigo just before 8 (sadly, not wearing a red "Got Funk" T shirt - I didn't see those at the Maceo gig and am now, officially, annoyed!!).

Will see you all soon!

What a disapointment, the music was truly funky but was all over way too soon.

It took me longer to get there than he played!

It was pretty packed on that stage, 2 horns, 4 guitars, 1 drums, 2 keyboards, 1 tamborine,3 singers and George plus a camera crew weaving about. At least two drummers and a guy fixing the drum kit at one point.

Very strange to see people filming on their camera's confused

I think I've been spoiled by the Prince shows I saw this Summer. Since then, I find that nothing really compares to them. Yesterday was okay-ish. I liked the first part better (Larry Johnson with Motown stuff). George Clinton was good, but his show didn't blow my mind like Prince's Aftershows did. The solo guitarist was excellent though, although the sound of his guitar was a bit drowned by the other instruments. They stopped at 10.15 and there was no encore. One guitarist told us afterwards that even he didn't expect the show to finish that early and was surprised when George suddenly took off.

But anyway, it was good to meet up with all the nice orgers (DoMeBaby69, Mentalist, Lovealotbare, LadyMissKat, LorMarcusMont, westv and hv3121).
