Will definitely be putting a small claim through online but gonna have to think about the best way to do it & check out what everyone else on here is planning to do... return the cheque and demand a full refund and if that fails file a case with the small claims court. U will then get a nice juicy cheque n the post 4 the sum U deserve. hope this helps, WOLFY Welcome 2 wolfys lair!! Make love not war!!!

Hi Lovecat, I still haven't received my cheque, but I'll be sending it back as I have been told that they will pay 31.21 ( total of 62.42) as a refund of my 2 VIP tickets, which I find completely unacceptable. I'm sending a letter to Ticketmaster and take it from there. If they don't do anything I'll be placing a small claim against them.I've been told by the Consumer Direct that I should give them a chance to reply, and them with their response ( if negative)go to the small claims court. If I were you I would send them a complaint letter ( probably a copy to the one you have sent to AEG) and take it from there. Please keep us posted.Thanks.

I too have received a cheque for a s**** £62.42. Am presently writing a letter to both AEG and Ticketmaster (enclosing cheque with AEG's) letter saying I am not having it and will take them to small claims. Lets see what they do now. Just got my cheque for the princely sum of £62.42 were the hell did they get that figure from, don't even cover the cost of a pair of tickets what with booking fees. Did anyone find their letter a little on the rude and abrupt side and i love the bit were it says no more correspondence on the matter will be taken. Too bad for them I started legal action two weeks ago if they don't want to correspond then great I win and we can let the court deal with it. I hate the fact that these tossers claim to offer me the chance to attend on a different date and cus I turned it down they try and fob me off with £62.42 this must be what the true value of the whole event was really worth. AEG if your reading this the cheques back in the post you should receive it in time for Christmas. [Edited 11/1/07 9:40am]

Lovecat - what address you using for ticketmaster? Ta At the moment I'm still not sure I'll be making the claim against Ticketmaster, (may yet just stick to targetting AEG directly), so haven't looked into TM's contact address yet. I understand the fact that the Sale of Good's Act is generally meant to target the 'trader' instead of the 'manufacturer', but feel it massively complicates things to suddenly start things up against TM when so far all my correspondence has been with AEG. I've also read online that the trader is liable for any breaches of contract unless he was acting as the manufacturer's agent, and wondered if that applied in this situation?? (In which case surely it should be against AEG after all.) Oh and the last thing that I was concerned about was trying to squeeze a description of my claim into 24 lines which is apparently all you get on the Money Claim Online website. That'll be a toughie! Oh and AEGSuck, please could you tell me if you used Money Claim Online or the standard county court route to make your claim? I'm probably gonna have to get info from Citizen's Advice to clarify a few things. Aaaggghh, it all seems so complicated [Edited 11/3/07 7:37am]

I would be interested to see the letter AEG are sending out with the cheques, that they are sending out a cheque for compensation to VIP'ers who attended the event means they are admitting there was a problem with the VIP event, so must surely strengthen anyones case if they reject the cheque offer and persue legally at the small claims court.
When they offerred me another night to attend a VIP package, which I accepted, they were very careful to word it as 'gratuity from AEG' rather than compensation.... Good luck everyone who rejects this offer and challenges AEG Live. Has anyone else seen any O2 VIP packages for any other artists apart from Prince? I haven't, I'm just wondering who's idea these VIP packages came from .... AEG Live.... TicketMaster..... Prince ... ????

Still received nothing from AEG so sent in my claim for full refund with Money claim online. Copy below (just about fits into the 24 lines that you have).
Purchased 2 Prince VIP Tickets for £235 each on 14/5/07,instead of the standard £31.21,as they were described as 'very best seats in gold circle with preshow party, entertainment, complimentary bar, buffet and transfer to seats'.When tickets arrived they were in restricted view area behind band at back of stage.NO MENTION OF RESTRICTED VIEW WHEN I PURCHASED TICKETS.Contacted Ticketmaster to exchange tickets but they refused and referred complaint to AEG.Ticketmaster then released tickets in gold circle area at front of stage for £31.21.Went to concert, not as advertised for preshow party or seats!Spoke to AEG on 5/9/07 who offered replacement VIP night or refund within 2 weeks.Requested refund as couldn't go again.Still not had refund despite calling AEG (those that have received refund were only sent £31.21 per ticket not the full amount).I want a full refund under the Sale of Goods Act as the tickets and services differed to those advertised at the point of sale. Hope this helps anyone else that is going to claim the same way!

[Edited 11/10/07 5:57am] this is disturbing n disgusting....none of us recieved the menu r anything like that...what r they on?? only thing 2 do is bycott the 02 arena etc n anything that AEG r involved with. that shitty VIP deal was the worst ever....the backstage bar was like a funeral home where i got 4 drinks n had hardly no food as there was a shortage n hardly no staff n the seats near the stage were a joke as i was seated in F2 behind the drummer n after i paying an extra £4.95 for special delivery of my ticket n may when they went on sale i was told that i had 2 wait until the day of the gig 2 recieve my ticket from the box office at the 02. never again will i go back 2 the 02...that rotten fucking shithole owned by AEG n if prince ever decides 2 return 2 play there i wont b attending. its not the money but the principle of the matter of how badly we were all treated as a result of payin £239.95 per ticket n i totally regret purchasing that as well as going 2 see prince 18 times as i know it was my own fault..... i was promised a different show each night as n the press conference where prince asked his fams 2 attend multiple gigs. i think because of the current climate with prince n the fams that i 4 1 am all princed out at the mo n if i could turn the clock back 2 may i wouldnt have supported prince with the amount of ££££ only 4 him 2 go n start taking legal action against his fams. Did anyone actually get really good tickets through the VIP packages? all the posts on here about VIP is how bad it was and how people were dissappointed with their seats (myself included) but i'd be interested to know did anyone get good front block seats infront of the stage where Prince played mainly? I would normally say front row tickets, but with the height of the stage, I don't think front row would be the best !!!
Most of the posts I read where people were got great tickets around the front of the stage where Prince played mainly were getting them for £31.21 days before the gig?
