I too have received a cheque for a s**** £62.42. Am presently writing a letter to both AEG and Ticketmaster (enclosing cheque with AEG's) letter saying I am not having it and will take them to small claims. Lets see what they do now.

I would be interested to see the letter AEG are sending out with the cheques, that they are sending out a cheque for compensation to VIP'ers who attended the event means they are admitting there was a problem with the VIP event, so must surely strengthen anyones case if they reject the cheque offer and persue legally at the small claims court.

When they offerred me another night to attend a VIP package, which I accepted, they were very careful to word it as 'gratuity from AEG' rather than compensation....

have recieved no cheque as of yet, so have returned to ticketmaster - I have given them seven days to refund me or i will start proceedings against them..

Same here, still no cheque. I sent a letter to Ticketmaster (just over a week ago) giving them 7 day to respond and have heard nothing back to date. I will be starting my small courts claim in the next couple of days and have also contacted watchdog about all of this

Still received nothing from AEG so sent in my claim for full refund with Money claim online. Copy below (just about fits into the 24 lines that you have).

Purchased 2 Prince VIP Tickets for £235 each on 14/5/07,instead of the standard £31.21,as they were described as 'very best seats in gold circle with preshow party,entertainment,complimentary bar, buffet and transfer to seats'.When
tickets arrived they were in restricted view area behind band at back of stage.NO MENTION OF RESTRICTED VIEW WHEN I PURCHASED TICKETS.Contacted Ticketmaster to exchange tickets but they refused and referred complaint to AEG.Ticketmaster then released tickets in gold circle area at front of
stage for £31.21.Went to concert,not as advertised for preshow party or seats!Spoke to AEG on 5/9/07 who offered replacement VIP night or refund within 2 weeks.Requested refund as couldn't go again.Still not had refund despite calling AEG (those that have received refund were only sent £31.21 per ticket not the full amount).I want a full refund under the Sale of Goods Act as the tickets and services differed to those advertised at the point of sale.

Hope this helps anyone else that is going to claim the same way!

that shitty VIP deal was the worst ever....the backstage bar was like a funeral home where i got 4 drinks n had hardly no food as there was a shortage n hardly no staff n the seats near the stage were a joke as i was seated in F2 behind the drummer n after i paying an extra £4.95 for special delivery of my ticket n may when they went on sale i was told that i had 2 wait until the day of the gig 2 recieve my ticket from the box office at the 02.
never again will i go back 2 the 02...that rotten fucking shithole owned by AEG n if prince ever decides 2 return 2 play there i wont b attending.
its not the money but the principle of the matter of how badly we were all treated as a result of payin £239.95 per ticket n i totally regret purchasing that as well as going 2 see prince 18 times as i know it was my own fault..... i was promised a different show each night as n the press conference where prince asked his fams 2 attend multiple gigs.

Did anyone actually get really good tickets through the VIP packages? all the posts on here about VIP is how bad it was and how people were dissappointed with their seats (myself included) but i'd be interested to know did anyone get good front block seats infront of the stage where Prince played mainly? I would normally say front row tickets, but with the height of the stage, I don't think front row would be the best !!!

Most of the posts I read where people were got great tickets around the front of the stage where Prince played mainly were getting them for £31.21 days before the gig?
