Thats a shame that you feel that way. I think it is great that Prince recognises she has a talent but is just not in a god place at the moment. He obviously wants to offer her support, and I think that should be commended. I love the song they sang and it really was a big surprise for everyone to see her there.....

Stop being so bloody sanctimonious. Thank the gods Prince knows so much more about these things than the likes of you.

i disagree with you on this, she was amazing last night, but seemed slighty nervous! ive seen her perform in the past and she was super confident. i just hope she overcomes her demons! as she is truly talented.

Beverley knight on the other hand! wow

Though i was surprised prince performed with her, because he is "known" as a clean cut guy, no drugs, drink etc.

in the press conference 4 the 21 nights in london he made a comment that he would love 4 her 2 join him at the 02....shes a great singer and her set at glastonbury went down a treat....i like her material and she has demons like all of us do and its up 2 all of us 2 confront them.

hopefully she will get sence and stay off the drugs as she is still young and perhaps immature hanging out with the wrong crowd so 2 speak.

Wooooah ! Poor Amy - leave her be - she's got an amazing talent but isn't in a good place at the moment.

He sees the potential in her.

Re Beverley.. I was thinking .. they've discovered they 'click' - here's one person hoping that they start working together. Writing music together - that would be great.
He was right - a new name does feel mighty fine....now for some fun - MWA HA HA HA

Your kidding aren't you???

That was one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen, totally understated and when he played the guiar I just melted. Give her a break and don't believe everything you read in the papers!

Not sure where you are coming from...you sound like a scummy person too me 'winehouse woman" reeks of underlying mysogyny and repressed sexuality - please take your underdeveloped grey matter back to your cave and please don't come out again for the next millenia or two!

Amy has something extraordinary to offer the world and Prince has sensed this....he doesn't judge her for the so-called sins of human fraility that you are obviously attacking her for.

Were you one of the idiots throwing glowsticks? Perhaps you'd like to have thrown one at Amy too! Heathen.

I agree - we were crying our eyes out, and I still get emotional thinking about it. Shame we had to share the same air as the owner of this thread.

I'm not sure why you don't like Amy Winehouse.

Or why you think she's an embarassment to the Britsh music scene.

She has an outstanding voice, and is delivering music that isn't being delivered by many at this time.

Not sure if you were there last night - but I was and I can assure you kicking off the show with a surprise guest - especially one with the quality of voice she has was an inspired move and set the scene for an amazing evening of top quality music.

rolleyes Go get a hearing test. Amy has an amazing voice she is going 2 be around for many years so get used 2 having her around. As a Brit I have 2 say she is not an embarrassment to the British music scene she is a beautiful gem that outshines many.

Amy is an awesome talent, Back to Black is one of the best albums I heard probably this century.

I probably wouldn't want to socialise with her, and yes, she's got problems, but so did Aretha, Marvin, Jimi, ....

Now Robbie Williams is an embarrassment to the British music scene. James Blunt. Bloody Kate Nash and Lily Allen. But you leave Amy alone.

I overheard Lily Allen singing on Clapham Common last year - she sounded like a dying cat!

Love goes out again to Amy! First saw her guesting with The Roots last year - loved her ever since.

You took the words out of my mind.

Amy's the real thing. I am so gutted I couldn't be at the Aftershow.

Did Amy and Prince sing the song as a duet or did A sing alone? I heard very conflicting stories.

I'd have to disagree. I think Amy's amazing. It's a shame her private life seems to have affected the way some people view her talent.

She was completely on form last night as she was at the Vodafone Music Awards. I think (and hope) she's getting back on track.

Prince welcomed Amy on stage and I am happy that he did. She needs the love and support from everyone. It's going to take love to get her through this conflict in her life.

It was pretty much solo. IIRC he sang a bit of backing vox, but otherwise played the role of "guitar player in the band".

My eyes were mostly glued on Amy, and trying to take in the amazingness of what was happening on-stage.

rumours were rife that he wanted her to perform with him for a long time.....

and I think it would be down 2 her marvelous emotional voice... which at the moment is "clouded" in her emotional turmoil which she is trying to escape...an so tint her performance.
but her talent still lives and as the man said she needs support.
Alot of great female singers have had troubled addiction related times.... and they r still great.

please don't put down what u don't comprehend.....
if prince wanted "someone better" he could have done and not bothered with her at all. but he didn't , he asked her!
get over it.... don't b embarrassed about that.

ok so u don't like her music/ singing.... but shame u had to come out with that.

I think you need to separate her talent and output from her private life. The drink and drugs are very destructive but frankly it's none of my business (you hearing this, Daily Mail?) and doesn't stop her being a fantastic singer.

Similarly, I have absolutely no belief in god whatsoever but it doesn't stop me enjoying P's music.

Stop reading the tabloids, and listen to the music.

Agreed nod u seem 2 b taking things at face value, P is interested in Amy's talent and nothing else, she is one of the brightest singing talents this country's had for years, we should be encouraging her. I think she's great.

Please tell me this is irony, especially (as has already been said )here P wanted to sing with her.....she didn't just push her way on stage!
From what I understand anyway P wasn't such an angel when it came to drugs....
