However i never realised how many people actually supported prince as a family . I attended the concert with my mum and sister we are all prince fanatics .I was just woundering how many of the orgers actually have other family members who are fans too ??

Yep - me and my brother (org name Mentalist) got into Prince around the same time in 1986. We went to our first Prince concert (Lovesexy 1988) and our first 02 gig on Sunday 16th. We'll also be together on the 21st at the main and aftershows. I also took my 5 year old daughter Ellie to the main show on the 31st August. Now whenever she gets in the car she says "put Prince on".

Took my daughter on Sunday taking my son on Friday my hubby has already been. Just out of curiosity, I wonder how old the oldest fan is who has attended these concerts - my hubby has just celebrated his 60th birthday first time at a PRINCE concert and he loved it!!!

I think that I saw a posting on here that a 4 year old went (under the thread "Taking/taken kids" (or something like that). Otherwise, I'd be proud for Ellie to be nominated as the youngest to have attended a Prince concert! I still never did find out how to put a pic on here of her all dressed up in her little purple dress and shoes.

My hubby refused to wear a purple silk shirt and I couldn't even get him to wear purple shoes!!!! (lol) razz just getting him there was an achievement but he did enjoy it.

That will make my hubby feel better to know he wasn't the only one over 60!!! He doesn't look it or act it in fact, he has just organized it so that I can go to the final night - feel like Cinderella going to the ball lol

I took my Mum to see Prince on the ONA tour, she had always enjoyed watching my Lovesexy videos when I was younger and always said she wanted to see him one day with me and she had a fantastic time!. My Mum passed away 2 years ago and so I'm so glad I have that memory of that brilliant night. smile

Yeah, she was the best! She was such a fan of music. She knew she was on her way out and planned her funeral down to the last detail, which was that when the curtains drew shut around her coffin at the crematorium , Jailhouse Rock was played full blast ,it made everyone jump! lol She always liked to have the last laugh!! smile

I've adored Prince's music from when I was little - I grew up listening to the albums of his that both my mum and (birth) dad had (they're divorced so I lived with them separately - mum favoured the early 90's stuff, my dad the 80's).

When news came that he was touring, my mum jumped at the chance of seeing him live and decided to drag along my step-dad for company. I was (obviously) desperate to go, but for years my partner has despised my love of Prince. I was never allowed to talk about him/his music without her making derogatory comments and his CDs were considered contraband in the car. sad It was only when it looked like I was going to burst into tears that she agreed to come with us all on the 7th August. neutral

Well, the 7th August was the night that changed EVERYTHING...

My step-dad, who has been to several gigs of bands that he's loved for years and who has NEVER bought a single Prince record in his life, said it was the best and most enjoyable show he'd ever been to and put everything else he'd seen to shame. biggrin

My partner is also now 120% converted, listens to Prince of her own accord in the car and even rang the box office straight away on the 8th to surprise me with tickets to 2 more shows! woot!

So, now I live in a house full of Prince fans!! lol
I love my computer... It's where all my friends live

Yeah, I went with my younger brother on the 12th August (I took him to see Prince for his first ever concert in '92)

Took my mum to Wembley Stadium to see him in '93 (her first and only rock concert)

Went to our first ever concert with my older brother to see prince in '86
