Your tour song?

I was just wondering which song/s of the tour really captures you back to the moments when you were in the concerts..

For me right now it is "1999" and "Chelsea rogers".

Starting to feel a little sad as well as this whole Prince experience will be over soon.. sad

THANK YOU PRINCE!!! (just in case he lurks)

Yeah loved that, such a suprise. But have to say opening with 1999 on the 14th was even bigger suprise and absolutely brilliant - highlight so far.

People in the crowd were very surprised to hear 7 too, even more than 1999.

Well, there are plenty of songs that I adored and was delighted to hear - lots of the album tracks from 1999 for example, Pop Life, Forever in My Life too, I didn't expect to hear them.

But the song of the tour for me, and I really never believed I'd be saying this - is Guitar. I thought the song was OK before the tour, but it's been a standout track with some great guitar-playing whenever I've been.

So far the ones that I have LOVED have been

The Beautiful Ones from his piano set on the 6th (just sooooo good)

Baby I'm a Star (from the 9th) (I'd played it 8 times in the car...partly at the excitable request of my travelling companion I confess....on the way and then he played it, it rocked!)

Guitar (from the 12th)....such a brilliant rendition

Ah damn, it's all just been too much fun so far. I've waited an age to see him again and I'd almost given up hope of seeing this stuff again so this run has just been beyond brilliant.

The opening bit to "sign o the times" and "Purple rain". Never did care really for PR but seeing him do this live and the crowd doing the "whoo ooo ooo's" made me shiver. So glad he played it the second gig as the first one I was mid stream in the loo when I heard the opening riffs. You could hear all the ladies shout "FECKING HELL I DONT BELIEVE I'M MISSING THIS!!!"LOL.Damn my bladder!!! lol

Oh god, so many to choose from!!!!

Got to be "Sshh", "If I Was Your Girlfriend" and "Purple Rain" from the main show on the 9th!

Aftershow songs would have to be, without a doubt, "Chelsea Rodgers", "I Feel For You" and "3121" - loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!!!!!

I'm still in shock that I saw him live, even more in shock that I stood about 8 foot away from him all the way through the 3 hour aftershow and love and adore him even more than I thought possible!

Had the best night of my life - it's official!!!

Controversy, Controversy, Controversy and Controversy. Yes, I went to two nights and was lucky enough to hear my favorite live track played four times! eek

During the 9th of Sept aftershow, towards the end of the encore of Controversy, Prince started the Housequake chant. He had tried to do it earlier in the main arena but "yall, didn't know the quake". This time, even people who had never heard it somehow knew what to shout.

"Who in this house knows 'bout the 'Quake?"
"WE DO, WE DO!!"
"Who in this house knows 'bout the 'Quake?"
"WE DO, WE DO!!"
"Do you really know 'bout the 'Quake?"
"WE DO, WE DO!!"
In the balcony! on the floor! JUMP UP AND DOWN!!!!!" nutty nutty nutty nutty nutty nutty nutty nutty nutty
"Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip,
and come on up to the Mothership!"

stereoboy

Controversy remains a massive high point wherever it appears in the show and as GC79 says - is the O2 song for me.

The songs that this tour has changed my opinions of them, though, are Shhh! which is just so unbelievably good live it's quite incredible, and If I Was Ur Girlfriend, as the funked up heavy version of that he is doing absolutely tears the arse out of that song biggrin

I'm glad I'm not the first to say it but:

PR because of the effect it has on the crowd, even on quiet nights! P ran the openening on the 9th then just stood around a while while the crowd whent oo oo oo oo (I think that was the 9th)

Also for me personally Shhh from the 9th also, But the question was "tour song" and I think PR has been the tour song
