Aftershow - an improvised jam !!

Last night, Prince and the NPG started the aftershow with a fantastic jam - strong performance by every member, especially Prince on guitar (phenomenal), Blackwell and the hornz. Well structured, with curious but very good arrangements.

I believed that it was an excerpt from Xenophobia.
Nope !!

had the chance 2 talk 2 Blackwell (who was very tired after the show). Il told me "Xenophobia ? No, no. We improvised it." I urged "Really, U improvised it ??" to what he answered "Yeah, we improvised it".

Ouch !
This group is really, really deep !

that is the best band on earth! The best since Lovesexy era, IF NO BETTER! You should see them live to believe, no live recording could trasfer the sheer energy they create. So good, great improvisators...they can keep up with the man!
cheers
Alex

It is true. The sky would have been the limit if this is the band he had during the "Emancipation" years 94-2000

It seems they rehearsed parts 4 both the show and the aftershow... But u should know that aftershows are the occasion to feel loose and to jam until the end of the night...
Calhoun Square has been rehearsed but not played ; in the other hand I don't remember hearing Automatic at the rehearsal...
They don't play at rehearsal the exact aftershow, note by note !!!
