which london show was the best?? i didnt go to fridays show unfortunately and even though i think saturday was a more party-oriented show and had more energy and was heavier on the funk, i think thursdays was musically speaking, the better show. i think prince is singing better than ever now but on thurs, his vocals were incredible and i think the overall performance was a bit more 'considered'. he seemed to be straight-fooling around a lot on saturday, lol, which was great cos he was so relaxed but i kinda miss some of the ol' sharp moves and routines.
still, the guitar playing on saturday was the best i think ive EVER heard him play though - family name, whole lotta love, the ride, they were all more than fantastic. prince should really be thought of as a guitar god like clapton, hendrix and them. i expect nothing but the best from prince live but even so, this is probably the best ive seen him in concert. the man still has it.

I would rate them in this order:
Saturday Thursday Friday...

I think I preferred Thursday, maybe because it was the first night, maybe cos I got to talk to him at the afterparty, but definetly because of the Piano solo, that blew me away!
I loved the Acoustic on Sat though, amazing! [This message was edited Mon Oct 7 10:54:27 PDT 2002 by eggy]

i like prince alot, but im sorry, bowie was awesome. I saw Bowie this summer in Nimes, it was great! My seventh Bowie show. Bowie is fab, but Prince is still something more. His improvisations, a setlist changed every single nite, his coming and chatting with the fans...the London shows are UNIQUE! cheers

I spoke 2 someone on the Saturday who had seen both Thur and Fri and had seen some ONA gigs in the States... she said she felt that the Fri was the best gig she had ever seen him do... i have 2 say I agree... I'd not seen any O.N.A. shows b4 but seen him live a fair few times... it really blew me away and the set list was incredible... then I saw the show on Saturday... ya know I have never seen 2 shows more different... not in quality but in content... more so than any other tour... and it kinda got me stumped because it kicked... I mean it really kicked... both nights were incredible... and I gotta say that surely when u thro in Fri and Sats soundchecks they have 2 be the better 2..?
(Or am I just saying this cuz I'm jealous that I didn't get 2 see Thurs!? Hell, who needs a list... the man is incredible... whenever he plays... whatever he plays...)

Thursday's show was the most enjoyable for me, and musically it was the tightest, funkiest horn driven show I've seen in years. 3 hours of on the button showmanship, changes and just a basic desire to get across as much of his material as possible.
Friday's was looser, slightly shorter but great fun for those fams of tracks such as Power Fantastic and Anna Stesia. Saturday was a monster jam, and a massive treat for anyone who had missed the Xenophobia celebration in the summer, with Prince playing a 20 min. acoustic set and then slamming home jams like Peach and Days of Wild...Thursday though was without a doubt the daddy - Prince even acknowledged this himself on the NPGMC Homepage by naming it 'Black Sweat' in the newz section...
