I get where you're coming from but it's not racism - it may be a bit non 'PC' in todays bonkers Britain, but if he's said/done as you have suggested it does not constitute racism.

You appear to be getting to the point that if his comments were somehow 'reversed' then all hell would break lose and the Commission for Racial Equality would jump in and get involved and such like. Which may (or may not) happen.

But if it did i for one would still think its a bit PC gone mad - and not racism.

...but then that's this great country of ours!

He's just having a laugh. I can't say I heard anything which I'd take issue with. Maybe you'd hear "Dance like you got white in you" at an Andy Williams concert.

I would be very surprised if Prince meant anything by it but he certainly does take the piss out of white people for (supposedly) having no rythmn (whoch is complete crap thank you).

If Prince was a white artist taking the piss out of black people there would be shouts of racism though!

Without doubt we live in a society of double standards.

It's strange because this is the guy who broke down racial and gender barriers with his band and audience. Think of the video for TMBGITW where he celebrates women of all colour and size.

I love Prince massive but he is sometimes a bit ill-judged (TRC's "family name" almost anti-semitic lyrics for example). Perhaps it would be better if he balanced his micky taking with a few people of a darker complexion!?!

2 be honest..I just think the O2 concerts are directed at the black ppl in the audience...the choice of old RnB, funk and Jazz that takes up about 70% of the show along with the constant dissing of 'whitey' really sticks 2 fingers up 2 the white crowd. A black couple in front of me were makin' some really bad comments about the white ppl dancing on stage so loud that some Australian accented guy shouted at them 2 shut the fuck up..

The whole reason I liked Prince in the beginning was cos he use to speak of 'I wish there was no black n white, i wish we all were nude' and 'white, black Puerto Rican..everybody just a freakin'

When did that become 'dancin like a white girl' & 'U'll be screamin like a white lady'

Ya I noticed this lately too. I bet he just about pissed his pants when he saw me dancing

Granted Prince has made some odd remarks about race over the last ten years, but I put that down to ignorance more than intelligent thought. (eg Blackburn).
