It started out with electrofunk (Zapp, Clinton solo), then to P-funk (parliament, bootsy) mixed with some old funk (James). Excellent Pre-show music!

He might have sneaked a few chords of resolution in, since I don't know that song too well, but as far as I heard it, it was just 'people get ready'.

First ever aftershow, so nothing to compare it to - but was sure we'd get at least some MIA - who really hadn't thought much of at all. In fact they got booed at the end - which is a bit out of order, but n'er mind.

I was just hoping we'd get some Prince, and if he did Anotherloverholenyohead again I'd be happy. But what we got was Prince from the off, playing guitar like a demon for an hour and quarter - not sure where it ranks alongside other aftershows, but for me it was just phenomenal. To play the guitar like that, for over an hour was just sublime, with brilliant backing from Cora and Josh. And Baby Love was brilliant with Shelby, and Alphabet St and Guitar to finish.

Bit weird, as I'll put my hand up and say I didn't know most of the songs, but still one of the best gigs I've ever seen - where you're literally there watching, consciously thinking "Oh.My.God. This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen."

Even the music beforehand was pretty good, and the place seemed in good spirits. We were to the right, just up the step down - still close enough, and a good view. Didn't see any of the drunks that were reportedly causing a bit of aggro at the front. And without making sweeping generalisations, there were a few black guys and gals totally getting their groove on further back. And a cool looking girl who'd made some effort, and looked straight out of Purple Rain.

He gets a lot of press coverage about his eccentricity - but I think it's a shame his often very down-to-earthness gets overlooked - like the sheer joy he obviously has playing with a crowd, and that great smile and playfulness he has about him. Seeing (and hearing) all that so close was just absolutely fantastic - no superlatives can really do it justice - it was just a jaw droppingly brilliant gig, and very possibly the best I've ever seen - certainly right up there.

Thanks Manki! I know I was in shock during that aftershow, but I know a tune when I hear one. At one point after the Resolution intro, I thought he was going to play Count the Days. He really could have played anything that night. Pure shock and amazement!

As said above, a lot of Zapp & Roger Troutman (I heard it through the grapevine, bounce), mixed with Clinton (Atomic dog, do fries go with that shake, Clinton's 80s output). Then came Parliament (aquaboogie), Funkadelic (standing on the verge), Bootsy (stretchin' out), James (talkin loud), Aretha (rocksteady), etc...

That really got me in a great mood. Much better for a pre-show then Joni Mitchell (as before the mainshow) or that symphonic new-age. Could that have been the symphony Prince was talking about for his next project? Or perhaps his inspiration for it?

He played I like it there at on of the early 21 nights in London aftershows, an instrumental version, where the crowd shouted out "I like it there!"

Oh and he's been doing Spirituality at the Vegas aftershows, got a couple of the boots.

When we were tryna work out what song it was gonna be, we guessed count the days.

I'm glad there are so many of you sharing what songs Prince sang. I spent most of show at back near the bar 'cos I'd a splittin headache - it didn't stop me dancing and singing, just couldn't remember all the songs, but I must say the atmosphere was amazing only wish I could go again and again.

Never managed to get to an aftershow party before despite seeing the man in concert over 20 times over the years (3 times this year). Dissapointed that he didnt appear the Saturday before so had to go again despite my wifes moaning about the cost!!! - I would have kept going until I saw him perform
I can now say that I have fulfilled one of the things I wanted to do since 1986 when I first became a fan.
He was unbelievable.....

Man that was awesome. I'm back home, back at work now. I'll never forget that night.

Anotherlover rocked. Chaos and Disorder, is that really the first time he's played it live, wow.

Empty Room, amazing version. Calhoun Square! Elephants & Flowers!

I could go on and on (and have done today at work )
